Stuttering audio in laptop computer

6600gt texture problems.

I saw the exact same problem in Far Cry. But it disappeared once I patched FarCry. Maybe it's a game problem? I've never seen the problem in Half Life 2.

I don't think it's a router problem. I think it's a laptop problem (because iTunes is affected as well as the network connection). But yes, I have updated the firmware for the router.

Does windows do this?

It turns off all signals from the video card, which is how the monitor knows to turn itself off. Therefore, the screen saver is not still running.

Backup Strategies? Good advice needed

If your backup fails, get another hard drive. You'll still have more money than if you went the tape route. The only thing to worry about is losing both at the same time.

Time To Upgrade

Unless you're a hard core gamer (which you don't appear to be because you don't want to upgrade your video card), your system seems like it would be fast enough for most uses. Use the $300 to buy something for your house or some new clothes. Or just treat yourself and your SO to a good meal.

You want to save money, here are a few ideas: * The DVD-ROM isn't absolutely necessary. The DVD/RW will suffice for now. * You can save $100 by getting "value" memory, though it will probably be slower. * Do you really need 3500+? You can save $100 by getting a 3200+.

Centrino slowdown issues

After doing some more experimenting, slowdown isn't the issue. When running on batteries, it is at 600 MHz. But it still runs iTunes fine at first. So I have no idea why it starts stuttering sometimes.
