So, where's the Intel monopoly?

Competition is good, because most of the time both companies AND consumers win. Of course there are times when one party loses, but with Intel and AMD, I just see win-win. I still buy AMD because I enjoy cheap toys to be replaced more than expensive toys, and I wouldn't want to see that...

Help with freezing problem (not overheating)

I can suggest resetting BIOS in case remnant settings of your past OC are still lurking, if you messed with voltages could see a problem there, but besides that it sounds like typical poor hard drive performance from an old or corrupted drive. I am guessing there weren't any errors detected...

6950 for ~$240 X6 1090T for ~165 If budget is no question, consider getting a 32-42+" 1080p screen, but that's just my opinion.

Which part to upgrade?

As long as your OCing the thing alright, nothing to worry about, the CPU is going to get used up as much as possible for those games, even at higher frequencies. If I were to suggest anything it would be to get a 6850 and OC your CPU, but if it were me I would wait until the game launches...

Random Reboots and freezes

Also 80C isn't that great, so I'm guessing the CPU is overheating and shutting itself off. Consider full clean down, re-apply CPU with paste, get better fans, try with case open, etc. Other than that you've got an old PSU and a new GPU. I would take out your GPU and boot to onboard video...

Headphone sound problem (Antec 300 case)

I get static more from my front port than my onboard ports, so I pulled out my old SB Audigy Gamer sound card, installed it, NO static :)

How does "location aware" WiFi work?

Seems like they have your IP address which is location specific like a zip code, then you have a port open through Firefox which sends ping results for nearby networks. Not sure HOW Mozilla does it, but seems pretty simple.

Overclocking tips?

So I have finally gone and chunked my stock cooler for a nice Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 Pro, and have already begun overclocking. Cores run at 18-22 C each at idle, and 29-37 C each at full load ; I have not changed ANY voltages, and I'm not sure if I want to yet... My farthest overclock so...

Thermalright ultra 90 and AMD 3800 x2 (939)...

Need help picking parts for a cheap computer

Good parts, but generally under 500-600, especially for a family member, you will want to go with Lenovo, eMachines, Dell, or someone like that. Much easier, usually about as cheap, and you will be getting FAR less calls for support. Unless you like to be the family computer guy....

Baggage and Fedex are the same, wrap all the parts in anti static AND bubble wrap inside and out, and carry your hard drives. Good luck :(

I would triple check the connections from the case to the motherboard. 90% of all problems are wiring. I know that doesn't help much, but that's all I got at the moment.

Turn it on&off vs leave it on vs sleep?

Personal preference I want my hard drives to last as long as possible and I want to use as little electricity as possible, I work for 8 hours, then sleep for 7, so my pc gets 15 hours of rest a day, roughly

If you're lacking in performance, it looks like it's because of your RAM and GPU, not CPU. I wouldn't invest anymore time into 939 personally. Let's see what some others say...

Problem - Swapping HDD between two computers

Make sure it's not trying to boot from the 300GB... and also try fixmbr(mbr = Master Boot Record = The 8 bit part of the drive you can't partition that contains boot information) command with a windows disc or other troubleshooting disc/floppy/usb drive. Can't think of what else...
