You can buy the Season's Pass as a gift and have it sent to your own inventory. That's what I did. Once the GMG codes release you can just apply it to your own Steam library.

Agreed. What concerns me though, is if you like to play with V-sync to avoid tearing and you buy a card based on these charts, you are likely to be looking at 30fps, or less, in combat. I'm unsure that 30fps is good enough. You got me there. I play at 2560x1600 and just upgraded to a GTX 680...

Are 7970 and GTX 680 fairly euqal cards for gaming?

I had a Sapphire 7970 OC card for a few days and saw a ton of potential there. It was bargain priced ($431.99 shipped from Newegg Business), the cooler was amazing (couldn't get it to break 64C even at 1100+ while being very quiet), and seemed to drive my U3011 wonderfully. Was so much smoother...

Video card on a Budget for Battlefield 2

Why not just get a 6800? I've seen some post in Hot Deals lately that seem to have shown 6800s going for ~150. I feel you on the 4200 though, I kept mine until last October when I finally replaced it with a 6800. Loved that card, but the upgrade made a world of difference.

Nvidia cards more popular for playing HL2

Damn, I'm still running a P4 2.66 on an 845PE. Yeah it's not the greatest, but with a 6800 and Audigy 2 games are still ok. Quess I need to upgrade soon so people can quit feeling bat for me :).

Poll: Did your LCD develop bad pixels after you received a perfect panel?

Dell 1702fp, purchased in 10/02 with no dead pixels so far. It's somehow still chugging along just fine, though I would love to upgrade soon.

I wouldn't say the card is going obsolete, but I would say that we are probably in the same boat as the 6600GT guys. As long as you keep it under 1280x1024 for games today, and don't expect to run AA on the next generation of games, I'm sure the 6800 will remain a fine card. Do I wish I had a...

4.1 or 5.1 sound for computer games?

I tried hooking up my TB Santa Cruz to my 640's when I got them, only to find that in newer games I had to restart my computer every time I wanted to use surroud. It would work the first time I opened the program, but one I closed it and tried again I would lose sound. Odd. I ended up buying...

Rollo's 6600GT SLI benches

I was just cruising around Newegg and I see that you can now buy an eVGA 6800 for 244 bucks. With prices on 6800s that low, is there any point in buying a 6600GT for AGP at least?

71.84 Drivers

Wow, did anyone else register a big score increase with these drivers in 3dMark05? I'm running a crappy dell P42.66 533fsb and for the first time ever I was able to break 4075 with these! My current 6800nu OC is set 380/800 at 16/6, but was only scoring 3800 with the 67.03's. Happy so far...

So are these going to be replacing the 6600GT's? Seems like a much better setup! I can't imagine what it would do OC'd (not that anyone should ever do such a thing)! -Jason

Ok thank you for that clarification, I guess I just noticed the typos. It makes sense though, since these cards are priced so close to the 128mb AGP ones. I'm sure the RAM will easily hit 700mhz should you decide to keep the cards. Awaiting your results! -Jason

6800NU SLI ordered, comparison benches on the way

New here, but quick question: Why is the RAM only clocked at 600mhz? I notice some of the boards have 256mb and are still at 700. Won't that impact memory bandwidth a lot? Anyways, I look forward to your results as I will be building a new machine to upgrade from my old P4 with a 6800nu AGP...
