I'm not even near the cities. its the Jersey shore! Every town around me that I drive through for work i end up seeing those stupid scam signs. there are too many to write SCAM on or take down.

every pc i have looked at after the 1 client told me about it happening ends up showing this same exact thing, every outlook 2003, (exchange servers are handling mail at every site I went to) and multiple client sites experience the notification envelope vanishing when someone goes from "mail"...

as soon as a user in outlook 2003 clicks from the inbox (this is while the "new mail notification" is in the notification area of the task bar.) over to the calendar portion of outlook and starts working there for a minute, the notification envelope vanishes without a trace, no longer indicating...

All drivers installed but still no audio

if what cprince said is true (device shows up in device manager, all the volumes are at 100%, and you even went as far as trying reinstalls of the OS), and you still dont have sound. you are right, it is the mobo, and that means rma.

computer restarts after MSI splash screen.

possible its heat related, if you turn it off for 10 mitunes (cools down things like cpu, chipset, video card, memory, etc.) then turn it on its fine. check the temps, clear out dust, try the memtest86+, also try out prime95 (will heat up cpu).

that totally sounds like a power problem. i'm pretty sure the 8800gts is a card sucking up 30A on a 12v rail. 4x12v 18a rails does NOT equal 72A on a single 12v rail. it probably took a while for the card to stress your power supply to the point of it giving these issues such as screen...

uh. a CS map of a HS.. that kid spent a lot of time on making that. that must have taken the kid many hours to do, thats insane dedication. whats more important was which side the kid and his friends actively played on the map as.. ;)

Remote desktop is very slow

from what i remember, even if you set remote desktop to the max for experience, such as "10Mbps" (going over a wired network), things like a video such as an mpeg just didnt show right. your probably experiencing something like that if it still doesnt run great, once you try hardwiring it.

My Computer Won't Boot!

problem was probably the overclock. ;) resetting the cmos to defaults fixed that issue. i'll ask "specs and what it's o/c'd to" i ask that because my version of mild is like the "fire sauce" at taco bell. that cpu would be at max O/C that is stable for 24hrs straight. :D

USB ports not working

motherboard took a hit when the psu died. rma the board. you could try reinstalling windows, but i highly doubt you will have the usb working after that since its the mobo at fault when drivers show no problems and usb doesnt even detect a device when connecting one.

i bet its the drivers under vista. even though nvidia's drivers for vista are out there, and you have the "latest", apparently they still are not perfect. the xp ones are fine as you mentioned, but for vista, i would be try nvidia beta drivers for vista that are newer than what you use now, or...

either net use (map a net drive to the local pc that exists on that pc) or the subst (substitute a virtual with a real drive) will work for your situation. i never read anywhere about doing a net drive -> local pc was "a bad idea" and interested in how it could be, when i seen it so many times...

i figured out the problem, server hangs for about a minute randomly throughout the day. event id 7011, dealing with ntfrs when the server hangs, and i get calls from the people the moment it hangs for them, i conected into the server and narrowed it down to that error. 2 things i did was updated...
