I think they performa roughly the same, and the price seems to be very close. They even have the same Vi-Vout Philips Chipset. Bearing in mind the above, i know this may sound silly or whatever, but if i had the money, i'd love to get the Gainward if not for another reason just for its looks !!!!

It depends with what you're comparing with. The YStech 26 cfm fan is much quiter than the Delta 38 cfm or the Papst 33 cfm. The noise ratings and other info are as follows :

From what i have read, the Abit VP6 should be the best option. Especially if you are thinking of using eide raid and overclocking. Then again, if you wait a bit you could get one of the new ddr dual boards.

Are the cpu's you have 1.2 or 1.1 T-birds ? Some of the 1.2 Gb T-birds have 1.3 cores, according to posts here and there these are red and do exactly that, when the multiplier is set at 12.5 they add about 5 fsb to get to 1.3 GHz. Probably an AMD little trick to avoid increasing the multiplier...
Did you connect the l1 bridges with conductive pen or pencil ? Or where they already closed ? There is an article at www.overclockers.com that T-birds 1.2 GHz are unlocked. Is yours locked or unlocked ?

Same here, Alpha Pal. But there are other alternatives. If you go at www.overclockers.com there are a couple of extensive hs articles. Of course there are similar articles all over the net.
Now if you run Scisoft sandra or any other benchmark you'll see that the memory throughput drops right after you go above 140 fsb !! So go to the cusl www site and get the method to fix it, the url is :

You can easuly test which is the better configuration by testing the two different options yourself. Theoretically speaking, when the fan is sucking, air from the region around the heatsink enters the heatsink and then exhausts from the top of the fan away from the heatsink towards the case...
I suggest you wait untill eager users fullfil their thirst to carry out 'free beta testing' for the AMD 760 chipset. Wait untill you see the coplaints on various places online, wait untill there are 2 bios updates and then think about buying any 760 motherboard or indeed any motherboard.

You have already choosen the cpu, so there isn't really too much to choose in terms of motherboards and chipsets ! i810 motherboards are a joke, BX motherboards are very fast but with the lack of 1/2 mode for the AGP thus they are a bit restrictive. So all you're left with is the i815...
Mybe it is time consumers stop jumping into things the moment there is a good review. Wait untill others test the motherboard for free for the manufacturing company. Wait until at least two bios updates and then go for it !

Why don't you wai untill the KT133A motherboards come out ? Add to one of the T-bird 850 guarantted to 1GHz+, take the multiplier down to 8 and the fsb to 133 and hopefully you can get to 1064 MHz.
