Ok.. so FINALLY with these settings I have my system STABLE at 2.4 GHz:
HTT = 3
Mem divider = 166 (Using DDR400)
FSB = 267
Mem = 221
CPU Voltage = 1.55v
RAM Voltage = 2.7v (+0.2 in Gigabyte BIOS)
And all Manual DRAM settings
The biggest factors I found was giving the CPU and RAM more...
So how MUCH is TOO much VCORE?
I can set mine to 1.50, 1.55 or 1.6 -- Is 1.6 too much?
BTW -- I am running at 2.4 GHz stable right now with the following settings:
HTT = 3
Mem = 133 mhz effective
FSB = 267
2.4 GHz
29 C Idle 41 C Full load
Cool -- Now that is CPU voltage right?
What is your GHz/MHz with those settings you have mentioned?
I am doing 9x260, HTT x 3 mem at 133 divider (My DD400 2.4 CAS comes in tomorrow), 1.40v and I getting 2.35 Ghz
Ok... so when I raise my voltages my mhz do not go up any higher...
When would voltages come into play? Using the 1:1 overclock or the lowering the HTT and raising the FSB?
(Sorry, never overclocked CPUs before)
Ok, got the overclocking going on the 3000+ but I am a little confused.
I understand the lower the HTT so it opens up more headroom but why would you ever want to add more voltage to the CPU and RAM? It doesn't seem to affect the Ghz/MHz speed at all...
Also, is it better to run (in my...
Why would this motherboard limit my overclockability? It seems to have all manual FSB, Memory and CPU tweaks in the BIOS.
Also, the 3000+ 939 pin only runs at 1.8 GHz -- About what speed do you think I could reach with that Venus 12 cooler?
So I am upgrading from an Athlon XP 2400+ to these new specs:
Gigabyte GA-K8NS Ultra-939 Motherboard
Athlon 64 3000+ 939 Pin CPU
PC3200 DDR Specteck 1 Gig RAM
Thermaltake Venus 12 CPU Coole
Now, I overclock my video card all the time but I haven't overclocked a CPU for years! Would it...
I'll check it out -- THANKS A MILLION!
Don't worry about the first post. If some jerk was trying to screw over the video card company, I wouldn't want him around either.
Thanks again! :-)
AHhh Ok. I understand now :-)
Yeah, I figured, you could probably try to pull the wool over their eyes but I figured being upgront and honest would be the best way.
I already bought a new video card so this is just was a "I will write them and HOPEFULLY they can replace this" so I was...
Dude, I talked to Sapphire support and they said as long as the card is shipped back in original form, they will RMA it. I was upfront and honest with them and told them I had put a VGA silencer on it and he didn't care as long as it was shipped back in ORIGINAL form.
The card won't start...
I put a VGA silencer on my Radeon 9800 Pro but it croaked and now I can't find the original fan/heatsink.
Does anyone have one or can point me in the right direction?
THANKS!
