URL Within MSN Messenger

Hey all.. having trouble opening URL's in MSN Messenger. Somebody sends me..say www.google.com I canno click on it I checked all options.. reinstalled.. even tried the beta and it still happens. Any suggestions?

New Hardware Found

System restore back to before it appeared in your Device Manager, and then see if it comes back. Or just remove it from the list, and then reboot. I suggest the System Restore.. as I looked the file name up on Google and found nothing

Ports, torrents, and trojans, oh my!

Yeah your pretty much safe until you start hearing about torrent hacking and such. I have yet to hear of any viruses or trojans attacking a torrent port.. but I wouldn't put it past people in the future.

PC to PC..using only wireless adapters?

NTLDR is missing

If you can get a program that will zero out the drive... basically formatting the entire drive including the boot record. Almost 99% sure it's a boot record virus. Also you could just copy NTLDR and NTDETECT onto a floppy and put that into the drive. Then you can boot up totally fine.

Windows XP and DOS

So yeah.. I have been trying to get some old DOS games to run in XP and so far I am at a loss. I installed DOSBOX, which works but it works like crap. Games are slow and some of the keys on the keyboard aren't mapped so I am limited to what I can do. Anyone successfully gotten DOS games to...

CPU Overheating

Do the easiest test in the world. Open your case, and put a fan next to the system blowng air in. Play the game for a while and if it doesn't lock up then you know its a heating issue.

What the...?

Drivers updated for video? Also download any available patches for the game. May be an issue with that one type of video card that won't work correctly without an updated driver.

Argh! viruses keep getting on my computer.

Do you have this system setup for file sharing with a different system? I know I had a virus in the past that would migrate to the other system during a scan. It was extremely annoying. If you have any type of file sharing setup, unshare your folders and do a scan on each seperate machine...

No having a CAT5 cable outside won't do any real damage. I mean in extreme temperature you may want to consider an alternative, but it's not that bad. As for having it go between doors, I have mine doing through a door and it works fine. I mean just be careful and don't massacre it and you...

Best Hard Disk Brand

LOL.. my cat did both of those while I was doing something.. sorry bout that. Anyways.. yeah with the hard drives, I have used Western Digitial, Maxtor, and Seagate. So far my Seagate and WD have worked the best.. my Maxtor died but Maxtor sucks. Seagate or WD... but get a Seagate if...

Name a video game that you could not beat

Only game I had never beaten was Chakan the Forever Man on the Sega Genesis. Sweet game, but I could never ever beat it.

Win 2000 vs Windows Xp

Ok, first off here is system specs P3 933 256 RAM 128 MB Video Card Now, it's not the best but it works. I am currently running windows xp pro, but it doesn't run as fast as it should. If I switched to 2000... anybody think it would run better? I do some gaming on it, nothing crazy...
