LCD recommendations (gaming)

If you're only worried about using it for gaming then the L90D is probably ok but if you're going to use it ofr anything else the 0.294 mm Pixel Pitch may get on your nerves after a while. Anything .26 and over is noticeable.

Gaming LCD panels.

IF you're going LCD there are more things to take into account than response time alone. Dot pitch (how large the dots making up your screen are) is a huge consideration along with contrast ratio, color depth, aspect ratio, and cost. I've taken to using my 2005FPW for gaming and leaving my 21"...

2 Monitors... different colors

I imagine you have one set up on the DVI and one on the VGA? That will give you a difference in sharpness and color right there. You're goiing to have have to manually color match them. I tried setting up two 2005FPW's side by side and they didn't match either. The colors were off a bit but the...

2005fpw or 2001fp?

I think you're better off. I've had some trouble with light leakage, but the color, response time and contrast are so much better on the 2005 than the 2001 that it's worth it.

nVidia Dual View - How do I uninstall it?

You should just be able to open up the dual view properties and turn it off. If I'm not mistaken, isn't there an icon by your clock that you can right click on to get to your settings? Anyway, once you turn it off you can just run your dual displays through windows anyway as long as it's XP.

8ms V 12ms

I have a 25ms Viewsonic which ghosts like crazy, just returned a 16ms Dell 2001fp for a 2005fpw @ 12ms and it's perfectly gameable. I alternate between the Dell and a 21" Sony Trinitron with no notable ghosting at all and I'm damn picky.

There should be an option in your software settings to lock the aspect ratio.

My new used monitor is blurry!

Again, try different refresh rates efore you do anything else. There also should be a convergence option in the monitor's own settings, that's likely your problem. Make sure that Moire cancell is not active in the monitor settings as well. Go through all of the controls on the monitor itself...

Monitor Problem

You might want to take some time and thouroughly blow the dust out of the monitor's insides as well. That can cause heat problems faster than anything else.

Poll: Most preferred LCD Brand: Dell

I've had 2 Samsung, Viewsonic, and now 2 Dell and the color reproduction and response time w/small .25 dot pitch on the 2005FPW can't be touched by an Apple display. There is a bit of backlight showing in a dark room, but it's worth it for the beneifits of being able game ghost free and work on...

Best Videocard of All Time

Voodoo 2 or the GForce Ti4600, that thing was a beast and ran everything I ever threw at it...till I let my grills get dirty on my PC and cooked it.

High-end gaming monitor

I have both a 21" Sony Trinitron and a Dell 2005FPW. I've switched to the 2005 for gaming now just for the wide aspect view. It's awesome, no ghosting at all. Now if they just send my next one without any light leakage.... ;)

VP912b vs. 2005fp - The Definitive Comparison

It's the difference in dot pitch that you're seeing, .255 for the Dell and .297 for the viewsonic. Smaller is better here.

The best way to look for hot or stuck pixels is against a black background. Dead pixels aren't as frequent. Glad you like your new monitor, I have a replacement for mine coming soon and can't wait!

An idea about 2005 fpw light leak (also posted at Dell)

Well, I finally ordered and recieved my 2005fpw and it's pretty, but it does have some dead pixels and light leakage that so many have talked about. What I noticed that has not been posted here to my knowledge is that in the corners where white light is showing through seem to be detatched a bit...
