The Advent Heritage series were designed by their Heco counterparts in Germany. In Europe Heco speakers compete well against other established brands (=expensive) and the heritage equivalents were given good reviews. In North America the Advent Heritage line competes with Infinity Primus and...
Dead deal, though it seems to the Polk center goes on sale every two months or so now.
Do you already own Polk bookshelfs that you're trying to match with? If you don't then maybe try the deal i posted above.
Thanks for the link dBTelos. Btw, great price at only $29 a pair.
I've seen them before, pretty sure i've even tried them out in CircuitCity, but i can't remember enough about them to provide an opinion.
I have a good hunch that the Insignia's would have noticeably better sound quality...
Heck at that price i'd say buy them both and allow them a few dozen hours of break-in time then give them both some critical listening.
What exact JBL's are you talking about btw? CircuitCity.com doesn't list any, but i'm sure many people have reviewed them online already ;)
Edit...
Hi all,
Bestbuy has the Insignia bookshelf speakers for $39.99 a pair online, and you can use the in-store pickup option to save on shipping costs. For the curious: do a google search to reveal dozens of threads on these speakers at various online audio forums ;)...
For those who want something with clearer voice dialogue and better sound quality, and do not need to match up with Polk surrounds, pick up the Advent Heritage Center instead from Accessories4less for $49.99 AC shipped free. First time registrants get another $2 off with bonus points bringing...
Pretty sure it ought to be ok on it's side, you may have to experiment to see if there's any difference between laying it on it's right or left side though. The 50hz/200hz is actually the crossover adjustment, some ads misprint it as the frequency response, which is def wrong. I mention...
I've been researching this stuff lately and am in a similar situation as yourself. My situation is i didn't want to spend a lot of money on a secondary home theatre in my home. After reading this AVS forum thread i decided to pick up some advent heritage H200 speakers and the Advent center...
You really can't compare the Europa fronts to the Insignia's really, since their biggest similarity is cabinet design.
Like i mentioned in the first post. It is likely that the rear-surrounds of the helios and elara product lines are the same as the BestBuy Insignia's. Not all of their...
Well, i found a thread at the avs forums that linked this review of the Radiient Elara speaker system. They use the Europa bookshelves as mains.
Review link: http://www.audioholics.com/productreviews/loudspeakers/RadiientElarap1.php
Edit: but i haven't really googled for more, or for...

Figured i'd post this for the more adventuresome amongst us...
I'm guessing the 8" Dayton is probably taller than 12.5". Using the 8" sub as a rough guage, i'd guess the cabinet is anywhere between 14" to 16" tall.
Ebay is a decent place to find a smaller, decently priced sub. Keep an eye out for a week or two and you'll probably find what you're looking...
hehe
Looks like PE has a new smaller Dayton sub, an 8" 80w model for $89 + S/H

Wonder why no specifications have been posted...
whoiswes
hmmph, i think the info you post here is very relevant. It sounds like Dayton has finally capitalized on it's sub's reputation and have begun to maximize profits by going cheap(er) on the parts.
The best part is that you own, and have auditioned these subs side by side. You've...

You know i've heard that once or twice before, people preferring the older model dayton sub's over these newer ones. I take it that it's definitely a different driver for these new cabinets. Can you put your finger on and describe why the older dayton's sounds better? Or is the...
Yea
The mega hot deal is when partsexpress has the 12" sub for $120 or the 10" sub for $99 and shipped free, which happens every six months or so. The good part is partsexpress is long overdue for another free shipping promo so everyone keep your eyes peeled. While i'll def agree OP's deal is...
I'd say your are both correct ;).
I've had a beater pair of hd202's for the longest time and can honestly say i've never truly enjoyed them. Though i own a few other lot more expensive Senheiser's so that may have something to do with it.
On a side note, It seems many users who own both...
You rock
This is really tempting me to buy their $89 OTA HD receiver w/hdmi: http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2104191&tab=summary
Would bring it down to around $80 + tax
$8.64 shipping to my to my zip.
Which makes it nearly $31.64 total for me (almost .32 cents a disc)
Shop4tech has the same ones for $27.90 AC shipped free.
Good info datobin, and thanks for that heads up. Will keep those cables in mind for future reference.
I do wonder how well Monoprice's RG-59 based component cables work @ 25' foot lengths. Does anybody know cable engineering well enough to pick out flaws in RG-59 based design? The end...
Talk about alternate deals and brands, newegg has the NEC 3550a for $38.99 shipped free.

No MIR either ;)
Digital signals are prone to their own types of interference, especially over longer runs, and when transmitting higher resolutions.
I think you meant "lurker" and not "troll" :D. But If what you are saying is 100% true, then that is impressive beyond any doubt. Are you sure you're not seeing...
Don't think there'll be any monster cable debate here, but i can assure you a *cheap quality* 20 foot dvi cable will transmit a nasty picture on a big screen, especially a projector ;).
The key is length, any ole crappy 10 foot dvi/hdmi cable will work just fine, but DVI/hdmi cables are...

Just beef up your favorite option to boost the price up to $1499 ;)

Yep got in on that deal awhile ago and will soon be expanding my existing gigabit network with two of these switches.
Gigabit nic cards range from $13 shipped all the way thru $xxx.
Here's a better intel gigabit nic for $21 shipped...
Ya, people in other forums are reporting TYGO3's (16X) and TYG02's recently. There still seems to be a lot of TYG01's floating around but quality recordings should be burned at slower speeds anyway imho.. A win win situation no matter what media you receive, if you ask me.
same here, pretty...
Makes for an "ok" read but diy'ers have written him and his article off. That article lacks important details, contains inaccuracies, offers no credit to and gives the cold shoulder to the diy communities ;). To tom's credit he is responsible for introducing many to DIY projectors, who in turn...
$400? I've seen SP5000 bulbs for as low as $279 recently, with many going for around $300. I realize it's still a tad expensive but still def better than $400 ;).
HDTVman are you a member of lumenlab by any chance? I've been a member for about a year now and my handle is SJetski71, i still...
I got in on the $100 promo a coupla months back. That $100 visa gift card came really fast (less than a month). Some people waited as long as two months i believe.
You do need to make a small purchase within a stated amount of time, though i believe that's the only qualifier.
Ya, i had recently upped a 7200mah battery with a 9000mah and the UPS is working perfectly fine. Granted my success might be due to the minor incremental upgrade, and or the allowances of the UPS itself.
Not so sure it's wise to mix a 6volt battery with a 12volt battery in a UPS unit, wouldn't want to take the chance on it leaking or gulp, exploding on ya ;). Besides that's expensive compared to what other merchants charge for replacement SLA batteries.
A few ebay merchants have 12v SLA...
