Frustration regarding probable obsolescence of XP x64

Snapshot and Sidebar on Windows Vista are features. DirectX is required. If you can't uninstall it, I really wouldn't call it a feature.

I can move files from Windows drives to Linux drives,

Two Part Question

Take it all out of the box, and run the mobo on a cardboard box or something. It almost sounds like something is shorting out. I've had this problem before.

Windows XP Activation

Wow, I've reactivated my OEM copy of Windows XP x64 edition several times. I've even used completely different hardware (new mobo, processor, RAM, and vid card) and I've had no problems with it.

Memory Overclocking

I have PQI Turbo DDR2 667 RAM. Both of my sticks are 1gb. Through my own tests, I have been able to push it to 370mhz (740mhz double), with 2V. I can't push it any further without getting errors in memtest. Should I up the timings to increase the clock speed, or will 4-4-4-12 achieve the best...

I just wiped mine with alcohol. Be sure that the CPU is still warm, because I ripped mine off with my heatsink once, not fun... bent a few pins, lol

Why are you all complaining about this? You do have the option to chose FedEx.... If it's that important to you, simply change the option -_- I have to change the option to switch to USPS shipping so I can ship to my APO and it doesn't seem all that difficult to me...

Trust Tiger's Rebated?

I purchased 2 200gb hard drives last year with rebates from TD and got both of them back within 5 weeks... I don't see a problem with them except their rediculoulsy high shipping prices for USPS. (Shipping to an APO)

You have no proof of that. I have it sitting right next to me. The configuration at HP has options for AMD Sempron 2800, 3000 and AMD64 3500+ and a few other socket 939s. I doubt they'd use a different motherboard in the same laptop.

Acer 512 MB Ram notebook at C.C. for $550 AR

Is this one of the 64bit semprons? I have a socket 939 64 bit Sempron in my Compaq r4000 with the same clock speed as this one. I tested it with a 64bit Linux distro and it worked fine. Why doesn't this say that it is an x86-64 processor?
