DPCs monitoring your output?

There is just a discussion on the tweakers forum with d.net about not saving wu's to get higher in the stats, and participants getting removed from the stats because of unauthorized installs. At that moment there's a big dump of 1.5 million wu's. So the timing wasn't that good :(

Question.. duh

It's possible that tomorrow the right key is found. RC5 is about a sentence coded with a key. If that key is found the contest is over. So we don't have to check all of the keyspace.

DNet's explanation for the backlog

Don't worry, all blocks cracked will be counted. Only when a lot of blocks from 'old' keyspaces are sent to d.net, ,the server get's more blocks than it can handle at that time, and will put them in hold. This creates a back-log. These blocks will be handled later, but it is possible that blocks...

Distributed.net Client / Seti@home what I bring to the table

Have you send your wu's to distributed (flush ?). If you have, the e-mail adres entered in your client should show up after the next statsrun (every night). If that doesn't work please post your ini-file from your client here, so we can take a look at it, and tell what isn't properly configured.

What's so bad about chewing randoms?

Just move the buff-in to a disk. This buffer can than be copied to the machine without internet access. The machine with internet access can than perform a fetch to get a new buffer. For the buff-out, move the buff-out of the no-internet PC to a floppy. Flush the buff-out of the internet...

RC5 Stats in the AM

They have been up a few hours ago, but only for a few minutes. But some people on tweakers have been able to make a copy. Stats for DPC can be found here, it also contains the wu's for AT total and for yesterday. AT is still behind /. , but the day after tommorow will be the day :)

sigh......some bad news...

r132 sounds like a resistor, and even if it's a transistor it's not that hard to replace. You only need (like Andy sais) to know somebody who can do the microsolderingfor you. At least it's worth the try.
