USB Ports won't show up as high-speed 2.0

What the heck is wrong?!?!

Monitor is fine (tried a known good one) and I can't get in to the boot options. I don't think this is a software problem. I tested a new power supply last night, a 450W Antec with all the right plugs, and it still didn't help. I'm getting really desperate here.

The motherboard is normally supposed to ground itself to the case. You've turned your entire mobo into a floating circuit there. You may not see effects, but I can guarantee you the system does not appreciate it.

Best thermal paste for 3200+ Winchester?

If it's a Winchester, it honestly doesn't matter, especially if you're using Cool n Quiet. My CPU when idle generates practically no heat; the heat sink isn't even warm to the touch, and that's stock cooling/grease. Even the northbridge is hotter. Athlon64s are cool runners, don't worry...

Athlon Dual Core question

I believe the dual cores will have a single memory controller that can do dual channel. IIRC the memory controller is actually connected to a crossbar latch. On a single core this sits around doing nothing since all of the data is going the same way, but on the dual cores that crossbar latch...

Writing a simple 3d renderer -> want sources

You could do D3D, OGL, or software. Java will force you to use software or Java3D...the latter is not really what you want. And don't even talk to me about JOGL or LWJGL. Time to learn C++, or maybe C# if you're a java guy. C#'s a nice language. Way nicer than Java.

Fedora vs SuSE vs Gentoo for AMD64 vs Ubuntu... Which would you choose and why?

Go Gentoo. Why? Because Linux is kind of boring when everything "works", and god knows it's a waste of time anyway (unless you are too cheap to buy windows). So if you're going to waste time on Linux, you may as well waste a damned lot of time on it.

...Why are you water cooling a Winchester 3200+? Mine barely generates any heat...I run at the case ambient temperature with stock cooling.

It's actually 12 cycles in the A64 and 31 in the P4 (plus 8 for instruction decodes, they're usually not counted in the pipeline because a mispredicted branch doesn't clear those stages). These numbers are, of course, not related to my question.

Accuracy of various temperature sensors

I forgot to mention that the case ambient temperature is a seperate sensor that came with teh case, it doesn't come with the motherboard. The other two readouts are reported by the mobo.

Does anyone run Stablity Test just to test there HT when rised above stock mhz?

You should definitely run it. Last time I pushed my HT too high, the system booted but it was totally spazzy (not enough correct math from the system to even render a web page).
