What voltage, and can I do 1.2GHz

What voltage, and can I do 1.2GHz

I have a lovely 1.1GHz Thunderbird, and a KT7 (non-RAID) motherboard. It works fine at 1.1GHz, but I have two questions: 1) - What voltage should I set it at when I'm running at 1.1GHz - I have to choose the options manually as the SoftMenu system only goes up to 1Ghz - I've been running at...

Old Win2k, new motherboard

Sorry crystal - I haven't been too clear about my OS I originally had Win98 on my hard drive. I upgraded this to Win2k when Win2k came out, and thus my Win2k is in the folder C:\WINDOWS. After installign win2k I put a fresh version of Win98 on another partition on the same drive - d:\win98...

Old Win2k, new motherboard

I don't think it's a problem with the hard disk, because early on in the year when I switched a drive from another motherboards' IDE controller to the Promise Ultra66 add in card i got the same message - and win98 works fine so the HD is ok. I think Windows2k just doesn't like IDE controllers...

It would seem we're not the only ones - alt.comp.periph.mainboard.abit has a chap called Tony with the same problem. I know Win2k doesn't like motherboards being changed, but there must be some way around it. Jim, when you re-instaled it did you just format the drive and start from scratch, or...

Deeko, you're forgetting my Sad-Obsessive-Syndrome - it prevents me from buying a non Intel processor - that's herecy. Seriously though, I want the onchip cache and I'd really prefer the 815E motherboards. I guess I'll just wait... Tom

So, when will Mr 1Ghz be out?

Thanks for all the responses. The reason for all this, as you may have guessed, is that I'm building a PC, and want a nice shiny 1GHz processor. I suffer from sad-obsessive-syndrome, meaning I must have a processor with 1GHz speed rather than the probably rather similar 933MHz which I can buy...
