which 400w ps is best pick?

changing cases and power supply

A quiet 120mm blow hole located above the CPU seems to be the best cooling answer. It's tuff to cut a new case, but from a cooling perspective, well worth it.

I agree with Blain. Buy a 120mm quiet fan, use the fan guard as a template, and a sabre saw with a metal cutting blade to create the blow hole. The fan guard can also be used as a template to drill the attachment holes. Blain told you where to place it so go for it!!:D

Oh, by the way, on page 2-29 of the ASUS P4B533-E user guide, it states that a 300 watt PSU is the MINIMUM PSU on a fully configered system.

Help Requested: Bad PS, mobo, CPU, RAM??

Don't know if you can on the particular board you have. My ASUS P4B533-E allows me to press ALT- F2@ at post time allowing me to reflash the BIOS. You would have to read the user guide for the ABIT board you have to see if it could be done. Regarding C1 stepping, Intel released new streppings...

I'm following your thread and don't see where it's mentioned if the bios has been reflashed. If this is a new C1 stepped CPU, or just a new one which the Bios doesn't recognize, problems like yours develop.

I have this board as does a business friend. We both have the same problem. first- if you're going to run one of the new intel C1 stepped processors, you have to get the latest bios. Mine didn't even see the entire keyboard during boot. Luckily, I was able to get it into the Bios update mode...

What would yo like to know? I think I did make a mistake getting the 2.5 @400 Vs. the 2.53 @ 533. Why? Memory bandwidth. Mine is low, in the PC2700 test arena because of the 120 FSB. can't go higher. I'm running the memory - Corsair 3200 XMS at 2-2-2 but I can't get it to perform any better...

2.5GHz (100x25.0) C1 Stepped Running @ 3Ghz -Edit

Here we go!!! 120FSB equals 3.0 Ghz!! Not bad for a quite air cooled P4. Locked in the PCI/AGP busses at the standard rating and this thing runs.... 29C (84F) @ 1.6 Core voltage. Gotta Love It!!!!

How Do I Remove An Internet Explorer Ad Bar?

Fixed the problem. The program Music Match, even though uninstalled stays on the system. It creates two files in the program directory. Music Match and one called "MM". By deleting the .dll located in the "MM" directory and removing registery entries refering to the dll, the window goes away.
