Well, Hitachi took over IBM's drive business. Those 70 gig IBM DESKSTARS were involved in a class action lawsuit since they failed so much. I guess the name DEATHSTAR is an internal Hitachi company joke. It's ironic that they have the same problem as the old 70 gigers.

You need to be sure that the inside phone wires are physically disconnected from the outside wires. I actually tested with a voltmeter to be sure in my apt. after I disconnected from the main wires.
