Hi guys,
Thanks for the replies. Its called Kinotify because Kino means theater in a few languages. At the same time you can ask why is Fandango called Fandango ;). We wanted to come up with a brand able name and when you watch a movie you can 'Kinotify' it or bookmark it so you don't miss...
Hey guys,
I am looking for feedback here. I created an iPhone app that reminds you when a movie is about to be released in theater or DVD (its a paid app). The reminder happens through a push notificaiton.
Now, the overall vision of this is to enable it to aggregate all sources of media...
The Tea Party is hoping Boehner loses in 2012.
http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0311/50576.html
I have to agree here. Another empty suit politician that fails to deliver on their promises. I have to applaud the Tea Party for sticking to its guns and not getting pushed over here. We need to...
Its interesting that Goldman has only had 24 losing trading days over the last 2 years..... Either they are God and can predict the future, OR, they have information others don't.... I'm betting on the latter.
I wonder if there are any legal repercussions for saying 'ya I would like a trip to Cali' after he crushes the unions.
He played this one real dumb. But hey, this is politics bought and paid for by special interests.
I think LK and some others are missinformed here. To assume that fraud was at less than 1% is a pipe dream. Recent documents relased by subpoena show that banks may have securitized as much as 28% of MBSes that did not meet their own underwriting standards. I think the whole foreclosure...
I work for a small company. Since 2006 every year our rates have gone up (minimum 12%) Best part is that insurers don't have to give you a reason for it.
Hold your horses everyone. Health care premiums have been on the rise before the HC Bill. My company (which started in 2004) had their HC premiums raised every single year at MINIMUM 10% with NO explanation, we are now in 2010 and you can imagine that with compounding we are way over double what...
Very well said. I think the bottom line is that in Corporate America once you are in the 'executives club' you are in the club. Its obvious and very well known that the 'club' plays by much different rules than everyone else.
I mean look at the CEO of Home Depot with his massive parachute a...
I agree that Jews were not received kindly in eastern Europe post WWII. But to state that Poland is more anti-semitic than other countries is quite outlandish. Have you ever lived in Poland? Or been there?
One fact that cannot be disputed is that in terms of occupied nations, Poland had it...
You obviously don't know what you are talking about. Nice blanket statement there. If this was true then why would Poland have the largest Jewish population in Europe pre-WWII? And to call any other country more anti-Semitic than Germany is quite disgusting.
Let's not forget that 6 million Jews...
I think Donald Trump was on CNN a month back or so saying 'i don't get it, banks made all these profits, but are not lending'. He can't get a loan and he's not exactly a strawberry picker.
Ok, a lot of mis-informed folks in this thread.
The banks aren't lending because they know more losses are coming. They need all the extra cash they can muster with the Alt-A and CRE meltdowns just around the corner.
Also, the more significant problem here is the amount of DEBT in our system...
I don't see why giving away condoms and the pill is a bad thing.
I think what people need to understand is that the correlation between a teen mother (and this goes up a lot more if she's single) and the chance that her child will end up a criminal is VERY high. Read the book Tipping Point...
I think the message here is simple....
If you take in deposits, you can't use them to 'trade the market'. Since the deposits are FDIC insured you technically have an auto backstop. Its essentially trying to reinstate the Glass Stegal Act which SHOULD be done.
Nassim Taleb talks about this all...
Very well said, I like these points. As an 'independent' I think I agree with you. And I would characterize independents as more of the pragmatists that take both conservative and progressive views and try to find some kind of middle ground.
I think what independents want more of that neither...
I agree, I think both parties are a total sham. The problem is that we give politicians an incentive to serve their special interests.... and thats due to the amount of money that is allowed in politics in general. I mean you would have to be a truly moral bastard to accept a million dollar...
I don't really know what the GOP stands for these days.
What we lack in this country today is balance. I think that Democrats feel that unions, and social programs can do no harm, while Republicans think that corporations and de-regulation can do no harm either.
The problem is that moderation...
Maybe Keynsian solutions are not easily implemented (very rarely do we see them in action). I think the last time we saw Keynsian principles applied correctly was when Clinton and the Republican Congress made spending cuts and used the surplus to pay down debt.
I just don't like it when WSJ...
I don't think Keynsian economics is a failure. What you will notice in his theories that yes you do stimulate by issuing debt in times of trouble, but when times are good you need to PAY DOWN THAT DEBT and save CASH for the next rainy day so you can issue debt again. Its more about even keel...
Wow, someone just dumped a huge number of RMBS shares. Price is down a buck in about 2 minutes.!
Now I see why, Hynix lawyer just staid no settlement /w Rambus.
LK,
Not everyone lives in a bigger house than they used to. It doesn't apply to a the vast majority of houses. IF you want to provide some statistics, I am all ears.
Just watched the video.
If you look at history books and any great society/empire/country. The collapse begins when the middle class collapses. If our middle class collapses in the US, God help us.
I would go farther than term limits. How about no private money in politics at all? All elections can be funded by the gov't at a fixed price.
Make government work a PUBLIC SERVICE as its supposed to be!
I think this illustrates a bigger issue at hand.
See, the FDIC is never supposed to run out of money.... but why does that happen? Because when they finally do seize a bank, they realize that it was a big fraud and the losses are actually greater than they really are. That is why they are...
Back to the OP....
As much as I believe in free markets and capitalism, SOME (not all) health issues that people encounter in their life they simply cannot do anything about. I can only imagine what it must be like for a family who loses health insurance because of loss of job, can't afford...
Wait wait, so its ok to embarrass myself because you embarrass yourself? WTF kind of logic is that?
Ronald Reagan is rolling over in his grave thats for F-ing sure.
Hey, thanks for actually putting some constructive points here. I think Spidey's blood pressure is sky-rocketing in real time here. Good to hear what people actually THINK about the proposals.
I am definitely on the same page as you on this one. I don't know how much this requirement to have...
This is not true. Care should be emergency care. Once you are stable you are on your way. Further diagnosis or a plan to manage your condition is not included if you don't have insurance.
Please get your facts straight.
Why is medicare so expensive?
The government pays private insurance rates on all medicines/procedures thats why. Until that changes everything will always be expensive.
We could start with allowing the importation of drugs from other countries where they are cheaper. But that will never...
Normally I can't stand Michael Moore. But if this movie begins depicting the outrage that SHOULD be felt by the American people, then I am for it.
This is the largest fleecing of the American populous ever contrived by the government and big companies.....
The huge Wall St. firms have our...
