Need some help with a Midi file...

Now that I think about it, I'm pretty sure Fruity Loops will "render" midi (and other formats) to audio output, but doubt you'd be interested in that software.

From what I've seen, most "learn C++ game programming books" assume more proficiency with C++. Makes sense to me as there's little point in trying to teach game programming but adding all the extra overhead to the book by teaching C++ at the same time. Especially when there are so many fine...

Sometimes you can find a good enough MIDI of the song depending on what you're looking for, and if the vocal is assigned to an instrument, mute that channel. There's a trick with stereo wave files where you invert the phase and recombine, and it depends on the vocals being placed dead-center...

Vista to take 15 gig of HD space

15 GB is practically nothing to me for a new OS install, much less in the 1-3 years when I switch to Vista. As mentioned, some of that is paging, some is probably options you can remove/choose not to install. If you can't afford the drive space as cheap as it is, or don't want to use the OS...

How do you disable P2P programs @ workplace?

After the first warning or two a good firing usually does the trick. And I'm not talking about warning a person caught doing it, but blanket warning that no one should do it. You can of course add that if someone needs to be able to upload/download files between strangers and their work...

Why not start your own thread about why you think the 360 isn't worth the money? Seems more reasonable to me than threadcrapping on every post discussing (or attempting to) a piece of software for the platform, epecially considering the number of titles that will come out for it.

Late to the playstation 2 party...

Yeah, that's why I was asking if you were including the path in the call. Hopefully that does the trick. That little thing takes a bit of getting used to, can drive you bats if its overlooked. Good deal if that fixes you up, but if not somehow the forum will get it sorted out.

Need a good MIDI composer/converter

There isn't a quality way to blanket convert audio to midi. You could set something up that would work in some simple cases to some degree, but that's about it. Too many things go into a waveform to pick them out when the instrument's unknown, there's more than one note playing at a time...

'World of Warcraft' battles server problems

Is Blizzard still doing the thing where when the game servers have problems, their web pages do too? So "If you're having problems with the game, check our web site for details" except that the web site is hosed as well. Feel exactly the same way, and I've played other MMOs before and after...
