    Im pretty sure putting them on series won't do anything because the amerage on any one of the fan lines is enough to support a second one running at full voltage. What you could to is put in a resistor or try to add a larger diameter fan.

    I've seen the same thing in my old dell laptop, removed a really thick pad thinking it was terrible and put in arctic silver. It was over the VGA chip, and the AS5 didn't help cooling any. I'm guessing there is a gap and I'll need to find something to put in there.

    Waterblock compatabilty

    The holes are in the same order and spacing, as the 68/ 79/ 96 series all have the same mounting holes. My 9600gt fits the same Zalman vf900 that my 7900gs did, as well as all the 6 series cards.
