Shipping containers? We arnt talking about introducing a new species to an area. Three of the major disease transmitting mosquitos already exsist in africa, but are localized to specifics regions within the continent.
The geographical range of mosquito species is very dependent on temperature...
Actually, climate change is having a direct effect on species migration. For example, mosquito species that carry dengue fever and malaria are very temperature dependent. As temperatures warm, they are able to move into new areas causing local endemics.
That seems to usually be the case when you examine past record el ninos. It usually ends up shifting the temperature plot upwards starting a new trend.
If this one is record breaking, i can predict years from now skeptics using it like the one around 1998 to claim temperatures are decreasing.
Depending how intense this years el nino is, it will be interesting to see how much temperature observations are affected. As of now, this year is on track to be the hottest on record.

Could you please make an actual argument for how "bad" climate models are deviating from actual observations, instead of making some sweeping generalization.
Recent years have been below the model mean but still...
Ebola is not that easily transmitted from person to person. You have to come in contact with bodily fluids. However, with poor sanitation and public infrastructure in Africa its much easier for it to spread.
They feel blogs are adequate sources to use as a rebuttals to peer reviewed studies. If they stuck to peer reviewed studies we would no longer have to debate whether or not climate change is occurring. We could finnaly move on to discussing emerging technologies and ways of combating the effects...
Keep up the good work. I gave up a long time ago trying to explain science to the layman on these forums. You seem to have a strong grasp of the subject.
I feel like we shouldn't have to explain things like the natural carbon cycle and green house effect.
My favorite skeptical argument is that the climate has changed in the past. But then they ignore the fact that these warm periods led to great die offs of animal species. Sometimes i think they rather argue their point with the least amount of information so that they don't accidently convince...
Climate change refers to the regional changes that will occur due to global warming. Since the majority of scientists support that the earth is warming, there is an emphasis on how this warming will change climate patterns in different parts of the world. While CO2 and warmer temperatures may...
Sadly, there are people who think that an entire field of study has chosen to take a pure political position and is disregarding scientific integrity. This is while almost every major scientific community has made a statement supporting their hypothesis.
You would think that out of all the posts Incorruptible makes, he would have accidently constructed a sentence that contained a rational coherent thought. His consistent ignorance is actually quite impressive.
I believe they may have been referring to the Earth's changes in orbit around the sun that caused past global ice ages. Right now, global avg temperatures should be declining. However, we have managed to pump enough CO2 to cause temperatures to continue to rise.
I think what he said about african americans is much more offensive than the comments about gay people. Why is anyone suprised when you put a redneck on tv and they say somthing a redneck would say. He has freedom of speech but not freedom from criticism.
And Mitch McConnell has now vowed to block every presedential appointment until Benghazi questions are answered. We really are dealing with a party ruled by a minority that is mentally retarded.
I eagerly await your quotes from democrats in congress suggesting this. I also eagerly await your videos of the "MSM" promoting this narrative.
Though i dont actually expect you to provide either because you clearly just pulling shit from your ass.
Im sorry you dont understand the meaning or implication of calling benghazi a scandal, or that republicans are trying to create the narrative that the administration was involved in massive coverup or illegal behavior.
The issue is that republicans have been desperately trying to find...
I don't see anyone calling it a scandal.
However, as with benghazi ignoring security warnings is a failure of leadership.
A scandal involves immoral actions or illegal behavior. Failing to act is related to neither.
Republicans aren't searching for a problem so it can be prevented in...
Or it could be that a bipartisan bill supported by the majority of americans couldnt get through the house which is composed of an irrational majority who have taken an absolutist stance against any form of gun control legeslation. Every argument devolves into "the government trying to take my...
So your idea of a free society is: women legally under the control of their husbands and not allowed to vote, free blacks not allowed to vote, the expansion of slavary in the south, and the forced resettlement of Native Americans.
You must work really to keep up the appearance of being...
Your going to show me republicans enraged at bush for ignoring fbi warnings and calling the tragedy a scandal right?
Not taking proper action after security threat warnings is a failure of leadership and management, not a scandal.
Well lets try looking at empirical evidence. How many times has a society thrived and enjoyed the comforts of a modern industrialized society without any form of centralized government?
Zero?
This however, does not make it a scandal. I haven't heard 9/11 called a scandal and it was exponentially worse. No one in this forum expects feeble minded idiots like you to comprehend this however.
America would be an underdeveloped shit hole if we had to barter with chickens and had no centralized form of government. So the Africa argument is completely valid but your brain clearly never fully developed.
