Should I buy some sort of PCI card to support my extra IDE devices, or is there some kind of splitter that would work?
Here's my setup:
Devices:
2x SATA HDDs
1x IDE/PATA HDD
2x IDE Optical drive
Mobo connections:
-Lots of SATA
-1x IDE
So here's the deal:
I booked a flight from Toronto to Halifax leaving at 6:30pm. It's a 2 hour direct flight from Sunwing, a relatively unknown airline, but it's cheap.
Today, I go online to print off my tickets, and the flight now departs at 10AM. I call them up to confirm the time...
I live with 7 flatmates. I like it a lot for the social aspect, but it gets annoying when others don't pull their weight to keep to place reasonably clean, etc.
I want to live with friends next year, though, since I didn't know my current flatmates before moving in.
I find they always show up almost right away after I finish, or even before I'm really finished. I like to munch on those few fries left on my plate...
If I'm out on a date with a girl, or catching up with a friend, I like to stay at least 20-30min after I'm done eating just to talk.
The longest I've stayed is probably about an hour, maybe even an hour and a half.
I'm never sure though, whether the restaurant staff want us to leave, or...
The dilemma here is that what he says is contrary to the grading scheme itself.
There is another criteria which is "write-up" and accounts for the strength of my arguments, good use of data, etc.
So, last week I got an assignment back in a course I'm taking in university as an elective.
I got a B+, above the class average. Cool. But, on second glance, I'm not sure my mark is fair.
The topic of the paper was comparing the standard of living in various countries. We were to attach...
So, say I want to list 3-letter files whose names are composed of a b and c.
I can do:
ls [abc][abc][abc]
That works.
But what's a better way to do that, using wildcards or anything else?
This is on my Acer Aspire One netbook.
Basically, these keys are not working right: u i o p j k l ; m
They display numbers, or other characters instead of what they should.
I downloaded the chipset drivers for the notebook, and it didn't help.
What should I do?
(I spilled some...
This is in Canada, and I found some info on the federal Privacy Commissioner's website.
There was an almost identical case here in 2004, and the commissioner found that the company did not meet the legal requirements. Not sure if they were penalized in any way.
Their response to my email:
"Hello,
We apologize for the lapse in judgement, you are one hundred percent correct and we are presently resending the e-mail individually to our clients. The intially "big bulk" e-mail was sent in error due to a misunderstanding of the "resending" procedure. ONce...
I bought some tickets online for a local concert a while back, and obviously had to register on the website.
Fast-forward a few weeks, and I receive a promotional email from them. I take a look at the addressees: there are hundreds of customers' email addresses listed right there.
Their...
Not sure about everywhere else, but Kijiji (.com, .ca) is really popular around here. If you're not familiar with it, it's a free classfied ad site like Craigslist, but with a better interface.
So here's the deal:
-Each ad has a street address associated with it.
-Beside the street address...
I have started adding metadata (Copyright, IPTC info) to all my photos in Bridge.
I've got over 200 folders of photos in the My Pictures directory on my computer.
Besides opening each folder, hitting Ctrl+A, and replacing the metadata, how can I change the metadata on all my images...
Aperture mode, for me. When shooting sunsets/sunrises I use Manual. When using flash I use Program, since I can't figure out how to get a proper exposure in Av with flash.
For a long time I'd just been using MiniNova, but now that Demonoid is back (!) I've reverted to sharing there.
Do you use private trackers? If so, which ones, and what's so great about them?

(btw, currently seeking waffles.fm and/or what.cd invite if you're feeling generous :) )...
I think it's time for a reformat, after a year of having my copy of XP installed.
I have access to free copies of Vista Business and XP Pro 64-bit, through my school.
Which would you choose?
(I kept this out of Operating Systems, since it's more of an opinion thing)
Specs are:
Athlon...
k, I sent the email.
now I just wait. this is the message:
Hey guys,
Please ensure you read this email, as it pertains to your upcoming lab exam. Barbara, the lab co-ordinator, has asked me to pass this along to students in my lab. In our labs we covered the basic material for the...
So, I've been trying to rick roll this girl I've met in my university bio lab. We've become pretty good friends over the last couple weeks, and I want to play a joke on her. She knows what a rick roll is, and is pretty internet savvy.
I've tried to trick her on a number of occasions, but...
