Although i have been building my systems for a few years...this is the first time i decided to o/c my cpu. This is my h/w: e6420 2gb ddr2-800 5-5-5-18 965p-ds3 gigabyte 8800gts 640mb latest drivers all around inlcuding latest released nvidia driver, and winxp pro sp2 all updates...

i have turned off the screen saver...but on the power option is set at minimal...so the cool and quie feature will work effectively...

thanks for your reply... the mobo has an intergraded 6100nvidia chipset and i have not extra pci slots...so is just the mobo, cpu and memory....nothing else attached... temps seem reasonable to me...since it scales up when the system under load...and pretty cool idle....if i'm not mistaken...

maybe u are getting confused here? The pci-e plug is 6ping and is normally black. The 12v for the mobo at the top left is 4 pins and normally white...

ALC888 vs audigy 2 zs oem

I have boutht a 965p-ds3 which has the Realtek ALC888 onboard. From previous build i have an audigy 2 zs OEM. Considering that times have changed anyone knows if an older pci audigy card will still outperform the onboard? What about resources? will a pci card use less system resources?

Any idea which temperature is which on the speedfan when it runs for that board? I have Temp1, 2, 3, from IT8712F Then two temps from LM75 which report 127 and these are not "active" ones then Local and remote which is from LM99 of my 6800GT. I believe it should have been detected as...

Which 19" LCD do you recommend?

I would be interested in that comparison as well...especially 2005 running non scaled 1280x1024 games... these are the two monitors I consider buying at the moment...

so...common sense saying...that if there are not many games..that there are supporting the native 1680x1050 of the 2005fpw...I'm better off sticking with a "traditional" 19'', 5:4 TFT like VP191b or L90D+...rather than a wide screen...?

i solved my problem with a zalman fanmate 2...dropped the fan speed around 6100rpm and now..temperature are running around 50c flat out gaming... I guess the bottom line..is how quite solution you want... i use stock fan for amd...and Leadtek 6800gt...so i dropped the chipset fan speed as...

i have thought about that...but the clearence of my top right corner of the stock fan and the end of the 6800gt is less than 5mm... I also take it..that there is not way to adjust fan speeds for chipset from Bios..or speedfan...apart from fitting a regulator...?

I would like to know that as well... Looks like the mobo temperature..is not the Nforce4 chip temperature..but just a probe somewhere in the mobo (where?) That is quite important before people consider alternative cooling options for the stock chipset fan... I have seen around that DFI...

With my Leadtek 9800gt there is no space above the chipset...for anything... that's why i connected the chipset plug to the front mobo chas fan plug (q-fan controlled) and the case fan on the chipset plug...
