    Page quick links in thread list

    How do I view the list of pages for each thread? There used to be a list of page numbers below the thread title. I'd prefer not to see the first page each time I click on a thread with numerous pages ( especially when viewing on a phone with a slow connection ). Perhaps there is a quick way...

    I had a 2010 Malibu 4cyl as a rental for a week. Build quality seemed fine but that engine is not powerful enough IMHO. The A-pillars are quite thick as well.

    Memory Leak: .NET -> COM

    Quite certain it isn't in the COM object as a mock COM dll can be used in place of the .NET dll without any memory leak. I've tried using a trial version of .Net Memory Profiler 3.1 and it shows the unmanaged memory increasing but doesn't provide any specific details ( as far as I can tell ).

    Memory Leak: .NET -> COM

    Hi, I need some help with a memory leak between a C++ COM exe and a C# .NET dll. The .NET dll uses hand-crafted interface definitions ( see below ) to match those of the IDL in the COM exe ( uncertain if that is relevant but would be difficult to change at this point ). Both Foo() and...

    Opera 9.5 is out...

    The new skin didn't appeal to me until it died ( UI turned completely black ) and disappeared, leaving only the Windows skin as a choice. Does anyone know how to re-download the default 9.5 skin? It wasn't obvious to me within the Find More Skins option.

    .NET: <codebase>

    Still trying to tackle this issue. Additional research on MSDN has revealed the following: http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/yx7xezcf.aspx states "no version checking for assemblies without strong names". This would explain why the <codebase> order affects which version gets loaded as...

    .NET: <codebase>

    The original problem of trying to load different versions [ simply a bump in the AssemblyVersion attribute ] of an assembly still remains. My second post was regarding the issue of whether or not the CLR would load the app.config when the host process isn't .NET. Your reponse backs up my tests...

    .NET: <codebase>

    I couldn't find a definitive answer as to whether or not the config would be loaded in this scenario so I did the following: 1. Placed the assembly several subfolders down from the application base folder. .Net failed to find the DLL. 2. Created the .config file pointing to the correct path...

    .NET: <codebase>

    Hi, I have a C++ (COM) server that loads a C# assembly via COM Interop. That assembly in turn is loading another assembly by name ( e.g. Assembly.Load( "someAssemblyName, 1.0.0.0" ); ). The assemblies exist in the same directory as the server and all works well. What I would like to do...

    At what age will you (or did you) 'reward' yourself with a pricy car?

    Mid 30's and never had a new car, much less a nice car. Still driving a '93 pre-owned Ford that I'll keep as long as the yearly repair costs are much less than new-car payments. Figure I'll wait until retirement for a nice car. Until then, I just don't have the disposable income to waste.

    Making dinner for two. Suggestions?

    Chicken Piccata ( flour, eggs [optional, recommended ], lemon, butter, capers [ salty buggers, not too many ] ). If you get the thin sliced chicken from the grocer you won't even have to cut anything. Cooking time is just a few minutes. The sauce is key, so google for preparation ( most are...

    n00b Home Repair/Handyman thread?

    Hmmm, I'm not sure if toothpicks or golf tees ( mentioned by another poster ) will help me in this case. The hole is at least 4 screw diameters high and 2 screw diameters wide. It looks to me as if the installer tried to place the screw in 3 locations before finally securing it at an upward...

    n00b Home Repair/Handyman thread?

    Hopefully someone can help me out. A screw holding a kitchen cabinet door hinge to the cabinet frame came out. There is a gaping hole where it used to be, so I cannot screw it back in. I purchased some Minwax wood filler that claimed to allow driving screws/nails. It failed miserably...

    Should I get Adobe Photoshop?

    I've used PSP since version 7 and the help content is horrible. I spent days trying to get text to follow a curve from above, not below. Then again, I'm a programmer, not a graphics artist. You might want to give Pixel a glance if you don't need Photoshop compatibility.
