How is The MSI 785G E51? Seems to have low power consumption. Is it possible to make a guess on power consumption (X2 240/ MSI 785g) by comparing these articles? E65 seems a tad better (5w) than the ECS 2 idle. The E51 in the link above does 10w better than the same ECS board. This shows a E65...

Do you think that gigabyte board is pretty low power? I'll probably do some searches tonight. Have not really had spare time recently. Also some AM3 boards are similar price as the H55 boards ($80-100). So the only cost difference is CPU but Intel has higher performance, lower idle power/CPU...

Radiohead's new album

Radiohead is not my favorite but I still like a number of their songs. This album was quite good. For 160k bit rate mp3s I put in $2. Probably pick up the CD when it comes out. Was an awesome move really. Glad they can and did. ;)

Where can I get a decent 939 PCI-e mobo?

Zipzoomfly has some MSI and Asus boards that use Nforce4 and are Socket 939. Most of the Asus ones are back ordered although this one is in stock.

I let it run last night 100% low and 2 CPU cores at 95% idle. My X1900GT OCed to 650/720 and is running at 67C with a copper Zalman 700 cooler. It's going a lot faster than the other 2 instances on both my CPU cores (X2 4600+). The GPU folding is about 50% complete 10 hours into it. The other...

Data disappears

I have a 300gb IDE harddrive (NTFS) with some stuff I don't want to loose. When I plug it into my new machine it sees the drive as needing a format and it does not see any of the data. When I plug it back in my old machine it comes up fine and it sees the drive with all of the data. Is there...

CPU Problem.

MSI does have a live update program that should update your bios within windows. Although a lot of people still say floppy is the only way to go when updating a bios.

Yeah, I noticed they dropped the X2 3800+ and 4200+ price. Guess they are taking their time on the others. A little higher than Mwave and monarchcomputers.com too. : Maybe i'll see if they still have them instock over there.

Who is going to buy AMD now?

I plan to upgrade my existing AMD system and keep my ram etc. My brother is buying new and has a low budget for a system. He managed to squeese teh X2 3800+ (AM2) in there and will be enjoying dual core.

Here are some of the Abit reviews I skimmed. Legitreviews (294Mhz) Techreport (340Mhz) bytesizedreviews (306 Mhz) ocworkbench (350Mhz) Lot of the reviews that showed the Asus and DFI boards also were hitting around 300-340 OC with a low multiplier. Alright, thanks. That is what I thought...

Nice review there. To be honest, I'm not a big fan of DFI. I'm probably looking between the Asus and Abit boards. How's the 8GB RAM support work out? I assume it will slow the DDR speed if there are 4 or more RAM sticks. (not planning on using it but thought i'd ask)

I'm looking for a good ATI chipset and I'd like to be able to OC pretty well and run stable. Besides the crossfire differences, is it worth it to go to a board with the Xpress 3200 chipset over the other? There is at least $50 cost between a lot of the boards.
