I have no idea what happened. Just for curisosity's sake I ran the Silent Hunter III system scanning tool and it highlighted my CPU speed at 800some Mhz. What??? A quick look online says that processor should be running at 2200Mhz. What in the ... ??? I don't even know where to begin...

All video played since reformat is totally washed out

Washed out colors huh? I doubt it will answer your question but did you replace the video codecs you lost when you did the format? You might pay a visit to www.free-codecs.com to get the latest codecs. Then upgrade your media player to ver. 10 and let it upgrade everything. Might help...
