Does anyone know how to change the preview graphic in MS Word 2000? I am trying to create templates in word but my newly created templates retain the original preview graphic from my source document. Is there any way to change this. Thanks in advance!

I've tried to find information on this, but I've had a hard time getting any. Is it possible to convert a .pdf back into word or into some editable format? I know there is the text select tool, but some documents I've opened do not allow me to select any text. Do you know why this happens...

Hello, I am using IE 6 currently with Win2k, and it everytime I have more than 1 IE browser wiindow open and I click on one of my bookmarks, it always loads into the 1st IE window that was open and not the window I am currently in. I've uninstalled and reinstalled but I get the same results...

DELL Partition Question

thanks for the info, I'll take a look at the diagnostics and see if its worth keeping. You mean their is info on that partition currently? and how do i see it or do i have to go to the Dell website and enter the service number first. oh well, I guess I'll see first. Thanks again

DELL Partition Question

I've been working with alot of Dell laptops lately and when I go to FDISK the HD, I see a Non-Dos 31MB Partition on them. Anyone know what this partition is for? I doubt it will affect anything, but was just curious as to what its there for. Its a 20GB drive all for the C: so I don't know why...

Help!! Real bad XP problem

Would be helpful if you post some of your hardware specs, like mobo, processor and such. If you're using a VIA board, check your IDE settings. I had similar trouble with my VIA board.

Strange Win XP boot up problems!!

Yeah that could be, I just thought it was too coincidental, and then I tried running disk checks on it, but in XP and I think 2k, the disk checking utilities are a little different, only chkdsk i think. Also whenever I have to reinstall, doesn't it run a scan on the HD before installing the OS...

Hi, I'm trying to install Win2k by booting from the CD, and when it says its copying the files over to the HD, it says that if I enable SMART that it would be alot faster. Cause now it crawls along and just the copying of files takes close to 2 hours on a PIII 550/32X CDROM!! Does anyone know...

Strange Win XP boot up problems!!

I'm not overclocking though. It just keeps on happening. I do have to install the VIA IDE Miniport in order for the DMA to work properly with XP. Otherwise my HD runs in PIO mode which is superslow. Oh well, any other suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks again.

ECS K7VZA w/Athlon 1.4 Freeze up problem

I have the exact same problems as you. Couldn't solve it really though, like you said it just happens at random, no partiicular program causing it. When I upgraded to 2k or even XP from Win98 SE, this problem went away for me, now I don't get any lockups at all. I have a different problem...

Thanks, I'll try that next time, but will I have to constantly do this or it should correct itself after running this command? I can't figure out whats causing this problem all the time. It runs beatifully and then the next time I boot up these errors just pop up.

Winimage Help

When I use winimage to try and create an .iso image, I usually get some error like 'floppy error'. Does anyone know why this happens? there is no protection on the cd's as far as i know. Also does anyone know of another program to create .iso or .bin files? Thanks

Does anyone know how to schedule automatic shutdowns, and have it ignore the "are you sure you want to exit" messages from apps that are running? I use this line currently "C:\WINDOWS\RUNDLL32.EXE user.exe,exitwindows". Thanks
