    8600/8500 reviews?

They were expecting what Nvidia delivered in the past two generations, double performance leap (or as fast as previous high-end) which wasnt too much. I guess its the shortcoming of delivering two outstanding cards (6600GT:7600GT) and then following them up with a lukewarm response. Just by...

    8600/8500 reviews?

Thing is that the 7600GT is in a completely different price bracket. The 8600GTS provides a gain of 35-40% over it and yet costs almost twice as much. That is the reason why reviewers across the board are knocking it performance and its value proposition. If you look at the previous midrange...

    8600/8500 reviews?

128b killed it, really. To the ones who kept preaching that it'll be faster than a 7900GTX, sweet dreams!

All AMD R6xx chips are 65 nanometre chips, now

Yes. TUL to be exact. Tweaktown guys suck at Photoshop. The cooler looks exactly like the 8800GTX cooler, only the PCB looks shorter. I dont know see anything abnormal or important that AMD was so inclined on keeping the it a secret at CeBIT.

    What happened to Dailytech?

They have gotten extremely stale lately. Their R600 story was a rehash of the vrzone, inq rumors, their RV630 & RV610 was a rehash of the hkepc leak, their 8600GTS/GT story was a rehash from vrzone. Their last original news or article they broke was before the G80 launch. For the above...

    New 8600 GT/GTS photos + info

http://www.vr-zone.com/?i=4775 Thats less than what a 7900GTX scores. Factor in AA at 12x10 and it'll be trailing even more. In one word: disappointing. Going with 256-bit would have given them three advantages a) Cooling. Dont need 1GHz memory to get 30+GB per sec. b) Price. They could...

    New 8600 GT/GTS photos + info

Agreed but I'd compare it to the 320 GTS. 128-bit memory at 1GHz will be 32GB/sec. Very disappointing as its not even upto 7950GT, forget beating 7900GTX. I will either get a 320 GTS in July or look at AMD's offerings in a similar price range.

    R600 delays point to problems

It took you 3 tries to comprehend the fact that you have no ground to stand on and should start to retreat now. TROLL: 0 FACTS: 1 Direct from Nvidia equals CC. I have never seen any company mention their finacials/revenue percentage from specific products at any other events. Only a fool...

I have already stated that the figure is mentioned in the Nvidia's latest CC. You have to listen to it as it was stated in a Q&A session. R600 delays point to problems

Listen to their Nvidia's CC. Its 400k units shipped and $50 million of revenue from G80. Thats how you get to $125 per chip. Sorry, no pulling anything from anyone's ass. Unless you are habituated to it, dunno seems like you jump the gun though.

    R600 delays point to problems

Yes but has G80 brought in "4 years" profit? So far its making up a small portion of what was invested in. No doubt Nvidia will make all that $400m and more back once their G84 & G86 variants bring in the dough. But until then, G80 hasnt opened any flood gates for them. The high end market...

    R600 delays point to problems

I havent seen any one ask a question and jump to conclusion within the same line. $50m in revenue. AFAIK G80 cost Nvidia about $400m+ in R&D alone.

    R600 delays point to problems

Seems like you got them rilled up.  Btw, Nvidia made $50m from G80 so far, no where close to the $225 million some one pulled out of their ass. :P

No but you shouldnt be jumping to conclusions either. I have never owned an ATI card yet, that may change if Nvidia's 8 series midrange and the drivers for Vista. So when do you go back to trolling Nvidia now that you've masked it a little bit with some positive opinion on Nvidia? The...

    R600 Power Consumption

Thats the total system power consumption for G80. I believe G80 is about 140W. People are guessing R600 be 225-300W based on the leaked board pics have 2x 6pin and 1 6pin, 1 8pin connectors. (With this same logic we arrived at 225W for G80 before launch)

New Details on R600 emerging - ReScheduled to MAY Launch

The OEM version of the 7900GTX was also 3-4" longer than the retail version. This is because the OEMs dont want the cards to dislocate when moving due to the dual slot cooler. Their main reason is warranty issues. I told all this to you earlier to which you had NO response. I wonder why. :laugh...
