if you want something specialist like a tilt/shift or an MPE-65 equiv. then yes, it's harder than on Canikon (they do exist though).

well, uGuru has 2 means of accessing it's controls - 1 via the BIOS & 1 via the GUI (which requires a driver) so you can setup a lot of uGuru's utility in the BIOS.
Obviously what you can't use without a driver is things like jumping betwen profile presets at the click of a mouse.

I haven't looked into it closely but my money would be on the 2x x16 dropping to x8 electrically when both in use.
I think that you will find that plenty of existing cameras do that already.
Still, if ISO ability has improved without increasing noise no one will complain.
more often than not when you see a complaint about High ISO it's because of the in camera jpg engine/settings & shooting in RAW & post processing levels the field greatly - of course you may not want that effort.
Pretty much any current production DSLR will have high ISO capabilities that are...
an IP35-E is only good for ~3.4GHz on a Q6600 under normal conditions for 24/7 use (yes, with larger sinks/better cooling you'll squeeze more) & the IP35V's PWM design isn't as well specced as the -E.

Not that it couldn't be improved on further but imo they do have the best LV implementation ... esp on the A5xx series which gives you the choice of either fast AF via aux sensor or slower critical focus through imaging sensor.

Sony? They haven't implemented video on any of their DSLRs yet ostensibly because they don't think it's been " done right" yet.
I'm sure that it will come in some fashion at some point though.
Some of it may be down to parts of Europe having been strong Minolta territory but imo that doesn't go anywhere near answering why Alpha seems to be doing so much better in Europe than N.A. especially now that Minolta has been out of DSLRs for several years.
