    OK, the answer to the OP post is to Deactivate the Prefetch/superfetch button so that the Magician reads Activate. The Superfetch is disabled when the Activate button is showing in the Magician software. The screenshot by Odd Ramos is what you should see for a properly set Advanced settings.

    I found that disabling the network port will allow automatic sleep to work. This will not work if I leave the network port disabled during a restart or shutdown, probably because Windows is trying to phone home or something else is. Now to figure out WHY, heh.

    I went from 268 and 169 seq read and writes to 558 and 529 by using my INTEL 6GB SATA ports instead of my Marvell 6GB SATA ports on my ASUS P8Z77-V Deluxe mobo.
