try to play Quake1 in Vista

Thats odd I run Q1 on my Vista PC without needing to do anything special to get it to work.

Games for Netbooks?

I just got a Samsung NC10 netbook. What games are you guys putting on your netbooks? I did not get it for a gaming machine, but it would be cool to have that option for when I get the urge to play something.

Canon Vixia HF100 AVCHD Camcorder $420 shipped

Yikes I just got this camera a couple of weeks ago for about $450 from Amazon w/ a free 4GB SDHC card. I had to get it then becasue I have my first baby due any day now. Great camera! Don't waste your money on the HF10 for this.

Alice was a great game. I remember being in Best Buy when it first came out and picking up the box. I thought ahh what the heck I'll buy it, it looks pretty cool/different. When I started playing it I got blown away. Very good game.

What's with all the updates for TF2?

Whats wrong with making updates to a game? I don't understand the logic of the rant here. Some games, BF2 comes to mind, needed such major updates for months on end it lost appeal to me. Running around a game shooting at people who 'appeared' to be enemies that were really on your team was...

Way of getting to main menu through console in TF2?

In the olden days of say Quake you could just go into the config file and map any key to any command. I have not done that since the olden days so I dont know how the configs for these new games are handled.

It was on this day eleven years ago that PC Gamer revealed 3D Realms' plans for Duke Nukem Forever.

Do you invert your Y-axis? (Poll)

I have been playing FPS since before Quake World came out. At that time I inverted. Infact in order to use the mouse to look around you had to type +mlook into the console. WOW I have been playing games that long and remember that command...scary..... pushlatency was another one to tweek...

What do you consider an acceptible frame rate for games?

WOW! I only get like 30 FPS in BF2. I wonder how much more I would OWJI if I got 60+!?!?! Meh BF2 stats would be off da chartz :D

Exactly! What is very sad is thinking about all of the new ppl that got into gaming before playing any of the Quake series of games. They don't know what it is like to play a mirror smooth on-line game. remember the pushlatency -### Command to offset model lag in Quakewolrd :D

I have heard that the cause of the issue is the last patch. People that did not download the FULL patch are causing the server to crash. I play on a server that has a message that pops up asking everyone to download the full patch and install that. Not sure if that is the real cause of the...
