Wireless Router Security

I think i used WEP because one of my wireless cards is rather old, and didn't support anything else. I'll double check that though. So if i turn off DHCP, then the person connecting would have to guess the IP range that i'm using locally?

Sorry, i just saw this. It's an HP1100 with the funky non standard printer cable. I ended up going to newegg and getting a female 25 pin parallel to USB cable for like $10. Works well. Thanks though!

WMP11 makes mp3's color coded?

I'm using WMP11 as my main music player. For some particular reason, within a certain folder of MP3's, some of the MP3's are different colors. What does this mean and why does WMP do that? Any ideas?

I have a new 300GB drive that i want to make my primary drive. There's a 120GB drive in my box now that has XP home on it now. I tried slaving the drive with 2 different programs and they both fail midstream. To save time, I just want to install XP on my new drive and be done with it...

Window Update Stuck

yeah.. but it only sees a 4MB partition and formats it perfectly. I think it has to do with the ext2 partition (or whatever kind of partition Linux uses) that NASlite created when the drive was my bootable OS.

Can I "reset" a WD 120 drive to factory

I changed the jumper from CS to Slave and that fixed the weird detection in BIOS. I partially installed XP on the drive to clear the ext2 partition. Thanks for the tips guys!

Sorry for the confusion... I already have XP loaded on that machine. I want to add the 120 GB drive to that same machine for storage only. But in the state its in now, it won't boot if the drive is hooked up to the primary slave. Take out the drive, the pc boots normally.

NASLite vs NAS device

I'm debating on buying a copy of NASLite or buying a NAS device like Linksys's NSLU. I'm mainly using the storage for MP3's, shared files, etc. Wally world has the NSLU on clearance for $79. I like the NSLU's small footprint. Can anyone tell me why the pros/cons of both?
