Well nvidia claimed this affected less than 50 units worldwide so its at least an interesting data point contradicting the manufacturer.

Disabling the device has never done anything for me. HDMI Audio still functions even with the device disabled. At least this is the case in Windows 11.

Wouldn’t this only matter on production workloads? You don’t need a 360mm CLC to play games on a 13900K. Zen 4 also has way lower cooling efficiency than Raptor Lake due to the comically thick IHS they use.
I updated my Z790 BIOS recently and interestingly I see my voltages are indeed higher. My 13700K with a -130mv undervolt used to max out at 1.245V in synthetic tests on the launch BIOS, now it maxes out at 1.296V at the same settings. I can keep jacking up my undervolt in the motherboard BIOS...
TPU does provide noise normalized results which is probably overall the most useful. If you want the absolute lowest noise, its a bit more of a crapshoot because TPU’s data on minimum fan speeds seems to be completely wrong. I have used several of the 4090 models and the graphs they’ve posted on...

IMC's were so silicon lottery though with ADL I remember. Not sure if it's gotten better with RPL. My 12700K couldn't post at any voltage with 4000MHz+ RAM, tried multiple sets of sticks.
ATI was dominating Nvidia at the time in the GPU market, so it's not super surprising. Nvidia was running hot and loud to compete and FX 5000 series was considered similar to first release of Fermi in 2010.
Definitely wild how wide voltages are with different RPL chips. Some chips can go down quite a bit and others are only stable with nuclear voltage levels.
The lite load method works, or you can just do manual undervolting. Most people report anywhere from -120mv to -150mv is stable with Raptor Lake by offsetting the turbo frequency curve only. That way it won't affect your idle voltages.
I don't hear any coil whine from my sitting location (around 8 feet from PC) once I power limit/undervolt my 4090 to around 315W or below. Above that it definitely sounds quite audible, and overpowers the noise of all the fans of my PC.
The only time I've seen a difference in benchmarks for RPL is with ray tracing enabled, because for whatever reason RT seems to often offload work onto system RAM instead of VRAM.
So I guess overclockers are doubling killing their components, not only are they pushing extra voltage, but the process of tweaking RAM and CPU voltages these days means making hundreds or even thousands of power cycles in the first few weeks you put a computer together to tweak and max out...
Why compare to the GTX 1080? The 1070 Ti is in the same class and was only $399…in 2017. 5 years later who wants to pay that much for the same level of performance?

Depends on launch cadence AMD goes for, but its possible Zen 5+ will be the end of the platform giving the timing they provided. Zen 6 will have to be a massive upgrade to deal with Jim Keller’s new royal core CPUs and may end up needing a new platform.
