What happens if you set the bus speed to 100???
Try to cut/close the bridges... I think they describe this somewhere on tomshardware.com... do a search there.
Simply run the highest FSB: I'm running 143 FSB/MEM with generic RAM 2/2/2. It will run syncronously...
+ 143*7.5 is waaaaaay better than 11*100 in benchmarks...
it's not the ram, it's the async FSB/MEM... ain't workin' too better above 112. That's why VIA set the mem only to sync above 124 or...
keep your side panel off or get better case cooling (additional fans)
Always best to strip the case off :) you can access things better & get lots of better cooling w/o spending anything.
Here's my story: I bought 4 80mm fans to fit into my case, cut two holes in the top, yadda, yadda and I...
I don't know... I guess the Mobo controls the fans, but only if they are plugged into fan headers on it.
BTW: I almost fried my 1 Gig Athlon in standby mode with no fans on... so if you're on AMD's side better turn the thing off, or try it if you can RMA it.
see first what's the highest CPU speed (default 100x increasing progressively the multiplier), then
set the multiplier to 6x100 & check the highest bus speed that you can achieve... then
calculate CPU speed/MaxFSB & set the multiplier.
Notice that you may up the VIO voltage in BIOS to...
let's act AMD guys!

"Think of it this way - what would you rather have, a videocard that
can give you 160+ fps in Quake3 with all the...
LAN stans for Local Area Network. So wake-on-lan stands for when you're getting NIC (network interface card atcivity)
try to get something set like Wake-On-Ring if u have smthing like this.
SPD, I don't know for sure stands for a little chip that provides the mobo with the DIMM settings: eg CAS2 up to 133
It's better to have the RAM timings set manually, (not "by SPD", or AUTO)
I want to install a NIC in Performa Series Macintosh...
Can I install a PC part (like Realtek ones)?
If not can you tell me what type of Network Card may I install in it?
Thanks in advance.
I just bought one (after having a PowerColor and a MSI) and the Asus is DEFINITELY the BEST.
Slapped a fan on top of the heatsink and voila: 245 core / 215 memory ;-)
I get 5800 3DMarks (default 1024x768x16)
and 70!!! fps in Q3 HQ 1024 ;-)
So that we won't have to wonder around the forum...
ah, ahh... just flashed it with a generic BIOS & it won't get into windows @ default speed... just found a DOS program that u can use in autoexec.bat to underclock or overclock it ;-) but it's no use fo W2k
BTW I'm gonna change it tommorow so thanks anyway guys ;-)
there is a way to modify the memory speed in GeForce MX's BIOS to set it to whatever I want?
if anyone has a modded bios for 143 Mhz memory can u pls send it to lucian@zion.thedot.net
thanks everyone ;-)
try to lower your AGP aperture size in bios, disable AGP texturing with dxdiag.exe, lower the AGP speed from 4x to 2x or increase VIO... that's about all that I can think of... (besides installing the latest Via drivers (found @ www.viahardware.com)
I recommend pulling the Mobo from the case & start it with a screwdriver instead of the power switch ;-)
Used the above & discovered after three days that a wire from the PSU wasn't seated properly in the ATX connector, & the PC would boot only outside the case ;-)
for stuff like that it would be best to buy a KT7A mobo (should arrive soon) & a 1Ghz or more Thunderbird (Athlon) & overclock the hell out of it ;-) (@ least FSB should go to 140-150 (effective 280-300Mhz) & that helps a lot with heavy memory transfers.
PIII sucks
the only way is to disable ACPI
Device Manager -> Computer -> change ACPI compatible (upgrade driver) to Standard PC. It should reboot & reload all devices on their own IRQs.
