Socket-775 horror story:(

Seems I'm the only one then that this has happened to. Anyone have any ideas of what else could happen with bent pins on the socket? Or have a site with a description of what each pin does this way I can see the damage done?

Socket-775 horror story:(

Recently bought the GA-N680SLI-DQ6 and it's my first socket-775 since I normally deal with AMD chips. Needless to say I didn't know the motherboard had pins on them and that's where my issue comes in. I accidentally bent a pin or 2 on the board when I unlocked the pin and move the metal frame...

Strange for me UPS just throws the package anywhere if no one answers the door. The last time I had my package on top of my bush :( On the other hand Fed Ex will either come back or tell me when I can pick up the package from their base. Other than that, Mwave seems to have all the X2 chips...

AMD Athlon 64 X2 Overclocking Results

How would I be able to tell? I know when I'm in task manager I have 2 cpu usage history. Any info is definitely appreciated. First time playing around with dual cores. Also, the bios recognizes it. My board came with the latest bios version already flashed.

I did install the chipset drivers from the MB cd that it came with. Just in case though I'll download the newest chipset drivers online and see if that helps. Don't know if this would matter but I only have direct x 9.1 installed. I don't know if 3dmark01 se uses 8.0?

Does the "DFI LANPARTY nF4 SLI-DR" mobo support the 64 x2 chips? At the moment I know the "ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe" one does and it's the only reason why I went with asus. I did check the DFI site but didn't find anything. I would glady switch to the DFI but I need to know for sure if it supports...

Sigh, I just got all my new pc parts and the only thing that's holding me up is my 4800 chip. I can't wait to get it to call out the next day from work and play with my new baby;) So for now I can only look at my vapor chill manual for the heck of it;(

K, thanks for the info. I'm going to go vaporchill on my chip so I have no need for the fan. Guess I'll go with the OEM 4800+ from Monarch & pay the extra $15 for the warranty. This is the only piece I'm missing right now to start building my pc...*sigh*.

My main question is what's the difference between the OEM & the Retail version other than warrenty & packaging? Are the OEM parts made of a lesser quality (farther away from the die?) than the retail version? Do OEM chips tend to be below spec performing chips? I want to build my new computer...
