    Extra molex plugged into a spare port on the PSU reads 0.13v on multimeter - still no lights and fans - just the light on the surge protector... the low voltage must be leftovers in the caps... trying another power point elsewhere in the house...

    Hi, I guess you know almost answered your own question - the 2500k will wipe the floor with a 760. Yea maybe a heavily overclocked 760 would just about keep up, but if you overclock the 2500k too... which I've seen hit 5Ghz... well... If I was you I'd save up a little and go 2500k.
