Usefulness of stock fan?

The stock intel HSF's are actually fairly good noise wise if you aren't pushing it. Make sure you have your fan speed set for quiet or silent in your BIOS first. I use one in an HTPC and during media playback it can't be heard from across the room.

Give the guys at either Parts Express or Madisound a call and give them the model numbers/driver info. Or you can probably email too. You could provide them with the list of things that are supposedly wrong too. They should be able to suggest proper replacement drivers that shouldn't cost you...

AMD E-350 vs Intel Celeron (G530?) for HTPC build

G530 by a mile. Especially if you plan to run the Netflix app from within Windows Media Center. I don't think it's even really a comparison. The E-350's integrated graphics is okay but it really barely matches sandybridge's iGPU. This is only in gaming which neither is really useable for...

Do Americans have pressurized toilets?

We pu low water use toilets at our house and they work fine. Don't clog any more often than the old ones. One of them will actually let you hold the handle down longer for more flushing power, while a standard quick flush takes very little water.

Have you considered an older model, something like a used GTS250? Should be able to grab one real cheap and they are honestly pretty decent cards still. I gave my buddy my old one and he plays most games out there without issue. (L4D2, SWTOR, things like that).

SSD needs to be alone during Windows install?

Sometimes Win7 can F up the master boot record if there's more than one drive attached during installation. I've seen it a few times (XP too). Plus you never know if you'll get too clicky and repartition/format the wrong drive. Safest to just unplug everything but the drive you intend to...

Cheapest video card for SW:TOR?

GTX460 1gig runs it great on both an i5 2500K rig and a Phenom ii x4. Got mine for $118 AR a while back. The i5 runs at 1920x1200 while the Phenom is only 1280x1024. You might have issues with that Athlon 64 though.

Western Digital and Seagate reducing warranties on HDDs
