The highest LVT multiplier (again not sure if this is the right term) would be 5x. This multiplier is not the same as the cpu miltiplier. It controls the speed of the link between the cpu and northbridge, and the link between the northbridge and southbridge. (if i understand correctly) You do...
mamisano, I'm assuming you lowered your LVT (or whatever it's called) multiplier.......on my Asrock it's called out as two different settings, one as North Bridge to South Bridge link and I can't remember what the other one is called.
i found the pure innovation at ncix for $204 american
http://www.us.ncix.com/products/index.p...vpn=PI-A9RX480%20&manufacture=SAPPHIRE
it's not in stock though.....it would be nice if the street price dropped to at least $180
i think you can set the SATA controller to IDE mode in bios and then you don't need raid drivers unless you are actually going to do raid
there is a setting you have to turn off to be able to succesfully change your divider.....i forgot what it is called. It should be listed towards the...
I haven't had any problems with it using bios 1.2 or bios 1.4. It obviously doesn't overclock as well as other boards, but you can still get a decent overclock.
It seems like EVERY motherboard I buy lately there are a bunch of people complaining about them.....but I never have any problems...
both seem really great, but I like the price of the Asus board......I'm not willing to pay $60 to $80 more for a cool PCB color
also the Ausus has a slightly better south bridge right?
Colors are for posers :P
Three things make this board amazing:
high overclock with stock SILENT chipset cooling
HD audio on board for those of us who have our PCI slots taken up by massive VGA coolers
great price
fyi I am running a s939 opteron 146 at 1.4V with 260FSB to get 2.6 ghz. it is rock solid stable.
bios V1.2
I know that I could overclock more with another motherboard.....but this is a very cheap, very silent system right now.....and I am pretty darn happy with it.
Hey I modded my C3D card to 16P on an Asrock dual SATA. The people who can't do it on an Asrock are probably not following directions.
Currently running both mem and gpu at 540 because I am waiting on a Zalman VF700 to replace the crappy stock cooler.
Do not use the "auto boot cd".....I...
i bought an Asus refurb and it had weird coil oscillations. i damped the coils with some adhesive and am still using it.....it's been over a year. it was a really cheap board.....like $30 or something.....threw in an old Athlon XP Barton core and it works fine as a non-gaming machine.
Obviously this is a budget board not an "overclocker" board.....that means people buying probably don't have the best video card that is currently made. If you are worried about games then the best bang for your buck is getting a better video card....not a 1T ram and mobo combination.
The...
2T means nothing to 99% of people who use computers.....it's not devastating......and it's the same story on most A64 motherboards since the memory controller is on the chip.
Probably a 6600GT would be a better upgrade than a new CPU and Mobo.
You may also want to be sure that you don't have a bunch of spyware or a virus on your puter running in the background slowing you down.
Also be sure to update to latest ATI drivers etc.
Hey there, I live in Madison WI and would be happy to give you an audition. I have two setups. One is Onix Rocket sig750s, RSC200, and 300s for surround. The other is a two channel setup of Onix Reference 1 speakers. I don't think you have to worry about the impedance of the RSC200....I was...
