    I was also getting the "cmos checksum error" with 3.15a. I did the flash using winflash. However, I redid the update using the available ISO file (boots off CD) and that resolved the error.

    i tried flashing the 2.60a bios, but when using the dos flasher, it says that the file is not the right size even though it is the same size as the official bios. I used a boot floppy created by Windows XP format command. Is there some other flasher I am supposed to use?
