There's no reason that shouldn't work. Depending on the specific monitor, the scaler might do different things with different resolutions. But if you tell the GPU to handle scaling it should work just fine regardless, just as it would on any monitor (albeit at a lower resolution). I would...

Can you mix Quadro and GeForce?

Well I've read some mixed reports on that, but nothing recent really. What I've read (from 2011 or so) is that sometimes the quadro drivers will detect the GeForce card, and disable the Quadro features, and the only way to get around that was by disabling the GeForce card in the device manager...

Never! Hahah actually I'm hoping to replace at least one of the 1TB drives with another 4TB, and the rest of them as 4TBs get cheaper. They're getting pretty old now; I don't want them failing on me, and now that 4TB is less than $200, it doesn't make much sense to get anything less.

I got it from Memory Express. When the card first showed up yesterday they had it listed at $579.99, but they beat competitors' prices by 25% of the difference and BestDirect had it listed for $395.20, so with the price beat it came to $349. Of course now ME has changed their price to $459.99...

Question about Earthmate Power Supply and UPS

You're looking for a PSU without active PFC, ideally passive PFC. Frankly, that's going to be very difficult to find in a modern PSU. Older power supplies and crappy generic power supplies are going to be your best bet if you want to go that route, but you might not be able to find a PSU like...

Thanks for the link BoomerD, it's very helpful. I can't test the CPU in another computer unfortunately, this is my only 1155 system. I'll test the GPU as well, tomorrow. Right now I'm done for the night, after going through Asus's support system and being told to RMA, then finding the RMA form...

I understand, and I do appreciate your help. In any case, I decided to test the PSU in another computer and it worked, so I can eliminate that as the problem. I guess then that it's the motherboard. Unless you have some reason to think otherwise?

I have no intention of RMAing blindly, I just hoped someone would have further insight into what the problem was. I can get a multi-meter but I don't have any idea how to test a PSU with it, or how to interpret the results of that testing.

That's right, I tried a minimal install (1 dimm, cpu, gpu only) with 2 different sticks of ram installed in the recommended slot. No difference. Sorry, I don't have a multi-meter available, nor would I know how to use one. I'll fix that later, but for now I just need to figure out what I'm RMAing.

I have an OCZ ModXStream power supply. It's at least 500W, but I can't remember exactly. It is an older one though, and only had 1 PCI-E connecter, so I had to use an adaptor for the other connector. I tried disabling on-board audio, but it didn't help.

If you're willing to look at it, the ATSC840 would probably be a better choice, as others have said. Plus it really does look a lot better than the cases you listed. I've never understood why so many case manufacturers feel the need to make all their cases look ridiculous...

JAG87, you're confusing subsampling with supersampling, plus an extra dose of misunderstanding what interpolation is. Subsampling is where a larger image is scaled down. It does indeed need to go through a low-pass (blur) filter to avoid aliasing, which seems to be overdone in nVidia's...
