windows wont detect graphics card

thanks for the suggestion. Somehow my driver for my display adapter in device manager was missing completely. Reinsalled it, restarted, and it detected the card. Seems like my gigbayte motherboard is dying again, 2nd time. POS

Quick Question: For BF3 (1920x1200 res): Can buy ATI 6970 / nVidia 570 for same price

How much more performance will $500.00 get me?

a gtx 460/hd6870 will net you around 30fps on Rift with high details af/aa on. I run a 5850 at 1920x1200 which is similar in power to those cards, and thats what im experiencing. I upgraded to a 6950 which is on the way. You can grab one for $244 after rebate from amazon, or $230 from newegg...

How big of a monitor is too big?

http://www.amazon.com/I-Inc-iH-282HP...7295197&sr=8-1 that is the best purchase I have made in a long time. For websurfing/gaming, it rocks. I replaced a 24" HP and it is noticeably bigger. I sit about 2 1/2 feet away from it.

If you're dealing with any text, then clarity is a priority. At the same resolution, a 24" will have slight-to-moderate better clarity/sharpness than a 28" because of smaller pixel size. At 1920x1200... 24" = .27 pixel size 28" = .303 pixel size Better than a 1920x1080 I would think...

lost my overclock ability, help

well thanks for the replys, looks like clearing the cmos did the trick. I guess during a windows error shutdown it tricks to board into thinking its a bad overclock and it wouldnt reload the parameters. For what its worth, unplugging the psu, and then removing the battery for a a few...
