Thanks CrackLing...
That's why I was asking the question...I wasn't sure this would work and knew the adapter would technically be the reverse of what I want. Plus I knew NAS devices required (more or less) some sort of computing power w/software to run it too...and that's basically what it...
All,
I could not find an answer to this specific question...but I'd have to guess it wouldn't work.
I have an external drive (Vantec Case that has eSATA and USB 2.0 w/Hitachi 1TB drive)...but it does not have an Ethernet jack. I want to place it on my network as a standalone drive for backups...
Hello,
Just have a quick question for anyone that may know. I've swapped out my motherboard, and I want to re-OC my Q6600 (G0 Stepping). I'm going from an Asus Striker Extreme, to the Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3P. Rest of specs are below...
I was originally at 3.2mhz stable on air, never really...
Thank you very much CrOnJ0b...I'm updating my orginal post to reflect this is a fresh install with clean never touched drives, system is currently only a few days old
I just got done installing Vista Ultimate on a new system and this is the first time doing RAID every (doing RAID 0 since you'll need to know). Is it possible my system could be slower then the system in my sig??? My hard drive lite seems to ALWAYS be on and flickers all the time while on so...
Has anyone used Tagan power supplies? Are they any good. I've been hearing about them lately but I have never heard of them before. I'm thinking of building a new system, and am used to PC Power & Cooling...so I wanted to know how they would compare even though they are NO where near close in...
Thanks GD, you were a big help in trying to figure out my current rig...which my CPU was killing my OC...much of what you say is probably true...I just want to make sure I have all the "right" parts this time around...even if it is overkill
Myocardia...thank you! I'd LOVE to get as close to 4ghz as I can, but I realize there ARE limitations with air cooling! hahaha
IsenMike...COOL! Thank you, I'm at work and will try to look at it while on lunch.
I have yet to decide what exactly I?m going to do?so I need a bit of help deciding on what pieces to get. I?m fairly new to OC?ing. The rig in my sig was my first OC, it sucked, I have a limp 2nd core that will only hit 240mhz higher then stock prime stable, so my best is 2640 on an AMD X2...
Unless you are running an SLI config...you don't need it. If I remember correctly it's just a backup power source for the bus lanes or the actual cards or something like that. You will still need to connect each video card to a 6pin molex that is on the actual card...but if you are running SLI...
I'm having the same problem with my X-Fi Platinum as well with the x64bit Vista. Also the Microsoft link for the PC-Cillin installed, but not correctly. It would not run and when I went to uninstall it, it won't uninstall and I get error messages. Everything else seems to work but I haven't...
I personally haven't tried this yet, but I've seen some people using v1005 and v1006 for bios on this board and they were still able to go higher then 1.55. I personaly can't go past 1.45 but I'm on v1009 myself
LOL that's awesome! I had a few failures in a row one day, took a day off from burning, and then it went slow. I thought the failures might have been from too much heat in the drive itself because the last few DVDs I burned were hot as hell.
Thanks a lot for the links...I'm back on UDMA now!
I've been burning DVD's for about 2 weeks now, and all of a sudden it's become SEVERLY slow. I looked on here and a few other sites and I noticed in my Primary IDE Channel Props that my DVD-RW is listed as the following
Device 0 (assuming it's my CD-RW)
Device Type - Auto
Transfer Mode -...
t0mn8r - could you please let us know what selections you have in bios for vcore on the board with your X2. Also please ramp that thing up to 1.5 and 1.55 and check with a monitoring program to report back what the real vcore reading is. A LOT of us are waiting on an answer to that question...
QuixoticOne - could you try raising it to see how stable it is? Nothing insane like over 1.55 but it would be nice to know it's much more stable then my A8N-SLI Premium. Hell right now I can't even select anything beyond 1.45 in my bios anymore and I've tried them all...so I'm looking to replace...
<scratches head> LOL I could have sworn you were using an X2 in one of them and a FX in the other...sorry about that. Any chance you've got an X2 laying around to test the vcore? Probably not huh?
Squonk...
What are you using to report vcore voltages with and is that the one you have an X2 cpu on? That's what I'm mostly concerned about since I have the 4800+
Squonk...
Please check something that everyone has been wondering about...the vcore issue!
I personally have a premium and have been wondering if swapping out to this board would resolve the issue. Basically they vcore is not stable on the premium, and I can't get it past 1.45 at all! Just...
Well...for a month...it will probably be ok but some have smoked out, I've heard one even caught fire. Someone once said it shorted out on them and blew a bunch of things on the MB including the MB too. I just wouldn't trust it. I don't know much about Thermaltake, but more then likely it will...
I might be a bit rusty...but you mean the A8N-SLI Premium right? If so...yes...look at my sig it works. The ONLY thing I can see you will more then likely have problems with is your power supply. People have complained a LOT about that power supply. Do yourself a favor and buy a good one. If...
Must be nice...mine is stuck at 1.45 for some reason. I've even tried to flash to older bios' that I KNOW I was able to go to 1.55 on...and I'm still stuck.
If I had the money, I'd swap this out for a DFI or something...this is just getting retarded
Well...I can state that it's good...but with an X2 proc. you're still stuck at 1.45 vcore. Nothing above that is selectable unless you have a single core chip
Dirtrat...please let us know about the Vcore...if it reports the same as it is set in BIOS, or if it doesn't work properly like the rest of us A8N-SLI Premium Owners!!! Thanks!
Not necessarily...
Reviews so far show the Premium is better performing, but it could relate to the settings!
edited: ment to say settings, not drivers. Sorry I'm at work and wasn't thinking! LOL
Rumors around other sites say it was supposed to be released last week of September, most were giving the date of either the 23rd or the 25th, so it should be hitting shelves soon
