Mandrake 8.0 Beta wonderful!

Does 8.0 support the Promise Fasttrak100 out-of-the-box? And the Promise ATA100-controller as integrated at the Asus A7V?

BETA dnetc v2.8013.467 available. Fixes v2.8012.466 Bug.

It immediately crashed my system when I double-clicked dnetc.exe (it's reproducable). Win2K SP1, AMD Thunderbird 950, VIA KT133.

Dnetc 4.65a out

Riv: the changes.txt is the same as it was in 2.8012.465 AMD + OGR looks faster dan in 2.8012.465, but still slower than 2.8012.463b AMD + RC5 is a little bit faster than 2.8012.465 (a few kkeys)

Misser won't be flushing large amount anyway, he got fired by his company, because dnetc should cause security risks... :( :(

Virus detroyed my herd.

Yes, It infects a PC with the dnetc-client (if already existent, it overwrites the dnetc.ini) via open-shared resources with no password. D.net banned this guy already a few months ago, but the virus is circulating around (I found it a few times in the Netherlands). More info can be found here.

Linux and ATA-100

Which Linux-distribution supports ATA100 (Promise-controller at the A7V) by default, without compiling a custom kernel (because I'm a newbee to Linux) ? Thanks for your answers !

a7v and win2k troubles- flaky secondary ide controller

You need to have BIOS 1004a or higher installed, this is a known issue with older BIOS-versions.

CPU-temperature AMD Thunderbird 950 Mhz

I found the problem ! The core voltage was set at 1.84 V, way to high. I set it to 1.65 V, and the temp dropped to 52-53 degrees Celcius, much more acceptable. Now, I'm overclocked my 950 to 997.5 Mhz (FSB = 105 Mhz), and temperature still lower (58 degrees Celcius) than before at a lower...

Hi, I'm using a Asus A7V with BIOS 1003. AsusProbe AND MBM reads 140 degrees/60 Celcius for my CPU. My CPU is 100 percent loaded (RC5). Is this an acceptable temperature ? It's running for 20 hours a time and it's very stable till now. So, I guess it's OK, but I'm not sure
