    Disney's Frozen

First of all, the movie is aimed at kids. Secondly, as a parent of girls, I actually found the movie to have the best message of all other Disney classics. Don't fall in love with the first sweet talking guy you meet. And true love between sisters, and all that.

Does your grade in school reflect your success in career/life?

I think you asked the question in the wrong way. You should've instead asked what's a correlation coefficient between good grades in school, and success later in life. I think it's high, but not 1. And don't get me started on how you define success in life.

Girl sped up to over 100 MPH, crashed into another vehicle and then took..UPDATE...

I had to read the article twice to make sure I understood it correctly. First, a major company launches a feature that without a stretch can be seen as encouraging their users to put their own and others lives in danger. Then, said feature actually creates evidence of a criminal act? And...

Intel made a huge mistake 10 years ago. Now 12,000 workers are paying the price

Yes, that concern is true. Cloud providers are also a bigger target for attackers, as there is more to gain if they succeed. Which why cloud providers tend to spend a lot of brain power on security. At the end of the day, you go with what makes you comfortable. Many big companies are...

Intel made a huge mistake 10 years ago. Now 12,000 workers are paying the price

When cloud is no longer available, well life sucks. But local machine s fail too, and likely way more often. Cloud will almost always have better energy efficiency, more energy efficient designs, multi-tenancy, data centers located in more favorable regions. I haven seen energy costs of data...

Intel made a huge mistake 10 years ago. Now 12,000 workers are paying the price

Why does it need to be handled locally? It can be processed (or even rendered) remotely, on a machine much more powerful than anything you will have at home. And the phone just does minimal amount of post processing.

Saudi Arabia threatens to sell $750 billion in Treasuries in response to 9/11 Bill

I didn't read the article in depth, but the threat kind of makes sense, doesn't it? Our government is about to pass the bill that will allow people to sue sovereign governments in *our* court. If that bill passes, it would be a sound financial move by any country at risk of the lawsuit to...

When You’re Accustomed to Privilege, Equality Feels Like Oppression

The OP did not connect with me. So it basically takes a single anecdote (one with comically one dimensional antagonist, I should say) and draws a rather thin theory from it.

Netherlands proposes banning gas, diesel car sales by 2025

I think it will absolutely happen. Electric car is simply a superior product, and not because of environmental concerns. It doesn't require running to a gas station every week, it's cheaper to operate and maintain, and it drives quieter. The price will eventually reach a point where those...

Will Smith shot to death in apparent road rage incident (No, not that Will Smith)

if abortions were made illegal, drumpf would want to punish women who get abortions

Is there a precedent for when a new law retroactively punished past offenses? I think the system of laws is built on legality of an act at the time it was committed, and not at some future date.

In my next life I'm coming back as an Anesthesiologist

This. I believe anesthesia is typically one of the higher risks during most surgeries. They also get to poke your freaking spine with a three inch needle. I have zero problem with people who have my life in their hands earning a lot of money.

Thanks for all the feedback guys, updated OP based on some of it. Major difference - decided against going with skylake - not convinced extra $60 would buy that much performance. Main uncertainties I have left are motherboard: there is big price variability, and I'm not sure if it's worth...

So decided to update my aging desktop. Plan is to use it mostly for software development, no games. I haven't built one for a while, and am a little out of date on my peripherals - so feedback welcome. I'll be buying parts in US, with a budge of around $1100 - $1300 for everything, including...

The traffic in King County Washington is getting horrific

It'll get worse before it gets better, IMO. Lots of new office square footage coming up in SLU in the next 2 years, yet we are still stuck with a couple of highway ramps that are already bottlenecked. Don't see how they can make highway situation better either, no room for new exits, and...

What mortgage company lets you pay via credit card?

What mortgage company lets you pay via credit card? The one that charges you extra 2-3% in interest. How would it make any economic sense for a mortgage company to pay credit card fees? Especially given current rates. They are a business, not a charity.

Black hole's radius is directly proportional to its mass (google Schwartzchild radius), while it's density is directly proportional to mass, and inversely proportional to radius cubed. The rest is math.
