I have the mobile Barton 2800+ as well..though I think it's 333mhz not 400. But, from what I hear you can jack up the FSB close to 400. Haven't tried it yet though. I have the AN35N Ultra as well, and the processor works beautifully with it. Windows willl say "unknown cpu type", but...
Hey guys/gals ... Had a question about something. I've got a Toshiba A35 notebook - mobile Pentium 4 using an Intel855GME chipset. The other night, I removed the CPU / HSF to clean it and replace the crap they use to cool thing with Arctic Silver. I realized, it's almost like a desktop chip...
Alright..last update for the night. I tried my old 300W power supply and it seems to power up ... i'll probably hook it up to my machine and make sure everything starts. But yah ..so I guess I should get a new PS. Good call.
Yeah you're probably right. I'm not sure why I didn't just buy a 400W+ PS last year. Anyway, yah so now the PS wont work when I short the pins again. I tried taking out the motherboard and hooking up the PS to it. Then I shorted the "power on" pins ...same result as before and same result as...
Update ...
I just realized that the power supply fan isn't moving. Whenever I turn the PS off and then back on .. and hit the power switch, the case fans spin a few secs and they shut off. The PS fan tries to move but doesn't ... so I'm guessing it's a safe bet that the PS is dead...

First, the hardware specs:

Shuttle AN35Ultra 333/400 fsb nforce2 ultra mobo
512 x 2 PC2700...
Thanks guys...man it seems to be quite an undertaking to get my machine up to spec just for a game. I have half a mind to build a new Athlon64 system and switch PCI-E since the video cards seem to be a little cheaper in that form. Plus at least 1.5gb of RAM ... lordy. And then I read I can...
Hey all...I've been perusing various forums trying to figure out which is the best bet for a video card to play Battlefield 2 with everything turned up ..at least at 1024x768. Here's my current hardware, first off:
Athlon XP Mobile 2800+ (333 fsb) oc'd 2088 ----> 2355mhz
1 gig pc2700 dual...
