It's been close to 4+ years since I build my rig. But i'm thinking to transition to a single card solution w/o dealing CFX or SLI.
First my specs:
CPU: I7 4790K (stock settings)
Mobo: Biostar Hi-Fi Z97WE
RAM: Team Vulcan 1600 DDR3 ( 2 x 8 gb )
GPU: Sapphire Trixxx R290 x 2
PSU: Coolmax 1000w...
phew! 2 weeks already and just finished assembling everything together what a beauty. I'll be uploading the software later in the day after I get some sleep. The 2 r 290s tri x are humongous.
Everything arrived so far, I'm waiting for the motherboard now...Hard to believe that it's been almost 4-5 years from my 1st official gaming rig! pretty excited. I had lifted one of the new video cards, they are heavy without a doubt.
I will have to return it unfortunately, New egg rep was very helpful and I can have refund w/o re-stocking fee + free shipping table. I had to be absolutely sure what i'm paying for is what it is says haha
Thanks for the suggestion. It's weird I thought the Ken's build was perfect for me since new egg stated that the motherboard has (2) PCI gen 3 x 16 slots. But when I reviewed the official MSI's product website, it tells a different story of the item description. Because I just ordered before I...
If you're in a rush there's nothing to stop you from getting one. Alot of the folks here are trying to help ya getting the best bang for your buck. If all else fails, you'll just be better off browsing custom pre-builts and bite the bullet.
I'm pretty much in the same spot as you, I grabbed 2 tri-x OC R9 290 for about $400..can't beat the performance and price. It's hard to believe just not too long ago, had bought (2) 6850s when they came out at a similar price.
technonology ftw...rip wallet D:
I did went over the list that ken provided, but the one thing that bothered me was the
PCIE 3.0 x16 + PCIE 2.0 x4 on the mobo. How would that affect in real world performance?
Well that's a bummer apparently. But for now I can start order through new egg! what do you think so far? sadly the Ares 2 x 4 gb for $60 is out of the question/soldout. But I can bum out 2 x 4 gb sticks from my gaming pc. I failed to remember they where Ares (same model!) as well when I bought...
Well that is true..I did stick with my phenom II for a hell alot longer that I should be...but life is treating me good these days. Then it's decided =) 4790k then
Hey there,
before I finalized anything. I'm trying to get a general consensus between the two chips. One argument states that 4690K will be suffice for PC gaming only, and on the other hand 4790K will be more a mandatory chip for multi-thread gaming (if any at all will be applicable for me)...
Yes I do have a microcenter sorta nearby my area 30-35 minute drive within the normal speed limit in SoCal :P. The idea of water cooling is nice, but I dont mind keeping the build within the price range.
As for Overclocking? I dont have the need and never did any since Sempron paris hayday...
Hello everyone, I know some Anand members are calling me out on this (if some you guys are active in GPU forums :P ). But I'll be truly grateful make a new gaming rig right before the holidays. I've been out of the loop in CPU/mobo/ram builds and it'll be awesome from to get a response. My...
I appreciate the feedback everyone! I know it's crazy and overkill by reading all of your responses. I just got a killer deal grabbed (2) Sapphire Tri-x OC r9 290s around $400~ planning to set this up hopefully in a week or 2.
I'll keep you guys posted !
Apparently yes :(
I took a pretty long break after the patch (and been busy at work lately) spent so much time in this game, pretty fun while it lasted (couple of 90s toons, 88s, 85s, etc).
hand me over the 100 k a year and I'll show you how to live a good life in a SoCal area. But really dude, I'm a household making in that amount per year (gonna expect to about double when I land a good position). Expenses can be draining if it's spiraled out of control, at least for me I live...
Hey there!
It's been awhile and i'm looking for input. I'm planning to build new pc with a budget <$1500 with a dual card setup in mind. At the moment I'm running xfire HD7950 on my primary gaming rig and wanted to future proof it for another few years while enjoying the current gen games...
Back from the grave here :P
But anyways, I gave a PoE a go and started my first character in Anarchy league staring at mid july. At first the desync was a drag and played on my lappy for a very long time. The game overall was great and reminded me the nostalgia with Diablo 2 + LOD.
The...
My short term goal is to get into bedside care in an ICU setting. I really want to get my feet wet and get my practical and critical thinking skills going !
