I'll count and find out....
from what i remember yesterday there are 2 groups of pins on the connection. a group of approx 30 pins... then a small space then a group of 7 pins
like this: (this is a rought estimate, i am going to count the pins when i get back in the case today)...
I just finished building my new system I love it!!!!
i went with a SB Audigy2 ZS Plat. for sound. The LiveDrive! unit connects to the soundcard useing an old flat ugly cable.
Has anyone found a compatiable datacable that is rounded? I want to fix this eyesore in my new case (as well as the...
no no no
Arctic Silver ACN-60ML (2-PC-SET) Thermal material Remover & Surface Purifier
This stuff is amazing!!! google a few reviews and you will see how impressive it is.. I've used it its even worth useing on a brand new heatsink that doesn't have a pad... cleans the surface better than...
System Up Time: 13 Days, 2 Hours, 17 Minutes, 51 Seconds
thats my answer LOL
but I do notice slight performance drops after 10 days or so... and i have not been useing it alot the last 13days... so it didn't matter. I leave mine own most of the time because of p2p and IM...
Remeber thatn in OC'ing when you reach a certain point.. you are putting alot of power in the chip and getting almost no gain in perfomrance... and it throws off alot of heat... if you are in the uppermost oc range of your particular chip.. you might have pushed it into that, more power little...
The only thing your mobo should power is the northbridge... and maybe cpu fan. You are putting un-needed strain on the board makeing it pull case fans.
Hey
thanks for the fix. I also fixed the orginal. I had put https by mistake when makeing the post.
i think i really like this board. Hopefully it will be great, and have less of the "issues" the dfi can have with inital setup.
You have to think of this.. one of the best things about the xp-90 is weight.. its very nice and cools very very well. The all copper unit seems to cool 2 to 5 deg cooler on benchmarks, which isn't worth the 300+ grams of weight it adds to the unit in my opinion. the xp-90 is a cheaper...
the XP-90 is the best choice. the great thing about the 90/120 are they are both light wieght in comparrison to others. the xp90 is great at its weight. the 90c is twice as heavy and the benchmarks i've been on it provies 2 to 4c temp difference. 4 deg isn't worth an extra 300+ grams os weight.
Exactly n7... as i said in one an eailer post... i am not looking to be so massively into OC'ing where i change my ram voltage up or down .003 volts because it works better for CS then back down cuz that works better for BF2 LOL... i just wanna ramp up my 3800 some to make it worth the vaule it...
That is what i was thinking... the EPoX seems to be much more normal overclocking compatiable... if i was come in contect and needed to control every microvolt into my ram, and make sure i recieved a 2 millisecond increase in superpi the dfi would be good LOL... but i just wanna tweak it out and...
Thanks Drew... see that is what i was thinking... everyone says "dfi is great.. but you'll sepnd 3 hrs getting it to boot" LOL that doesn't seem that great haha
i know that most of the boards will need a flash to the bios to see then X2 that isn't hard... i just don't want to spend 5 hrs trying to get the thing to boot because it wants me to manually set every lil thing from memory voltage to strobeing to htt... i am looking for something i can put...
cool...
does anyone have a nice link to a good place to pick up the Artic Cooler for cheap? for the 7800
i luv all you guyz :) so smart hehe
NewEgg has one for the 6800 would it work?
Ok the EPoX is at 15 and the DFI is at 25 votes... my concern... all this "might not work at first" and "you have to mess around with it to get it to boot" almost scares me away from the DFI.....
what ISSUES did people have?
i know the cache isn't a "big" deal right now.. and only really makes difference in very specialized things.. but when it comes to that i just want the bragging LOL
and w2g on the terabyte array :)
LMAO thanks for the warm and fuzzy kensai :-P
I'll be sure to take a small video clip of the blue geneie escapeing.
What about useing the ram heatsinks? i mean if the ram chips are just bare anyway, with nothing on them.. doesn't the lil heatsinks help?
Rise: the 3800 seems to OC nice and for the price break i think its the best vaule at the moment... at $390 its a pretty cheap to get dual core that way. The 4400+ Toledo is a major consideration i am thinking about as well. The 2mb of cache vs. 1mb is tempting. Its only around $560. So its...
Hey everyone
is there is a chart/guide listed anywhere that would show all the current AMD chips and the top multipler than each has; to serve as a reference for picking a chip.
I am looking over items to add on to my new build, as i finish putting it together. One thing i am considering is adding extra measures to cooling of the video card. It will be a 7800GTX.
First item i am looking at are the Aluminium RAM heatsink. They look like they would help and iknow...
OEM is ok.. just means its the barebones verison of an item, no fancy pretty box and all that fun stuff... usually OEM comes with the cable/disc that the retail has, but no marketable box...
Refurb is totally different... that is an item (usually sold and brand new retail) that has been sent...
well.. routers don't accutlly have firewalls persay.. (the consumer modles that is)... you have NAT (that provides some security)... for a true firewall you either need a hardware firewall (from cisco or something) or a computer set up to act a proxy/firewall)
thankx for the correction :)
I am going to use the PVR350 in my new box... (though the PVR500 with dual tuners is looking nice if i put MCE on the box... (though i am not a fan of MCE lol, so i am thinking of just going with the 350.)
