Looking for a s771 + SLI mainboard

So there arnt any nvidia chipset based s771 boards out there? If there is then does somebody have a model number? I guess I either have a choice to sell my cpu or to buy a different mainboard to pop into my proliant to take this processor.

How do I tell a program to use a particular sound card?

Unfortunatly Vista/7 really isnt an option for me for what i do on my personal and work computers. Plus it isnt per process volume control that i am after, its per process ability to use certain cards. (at least thats what i think i want)

advice - 1gb 9600gt sli VS 1gb 9800gtx+ (single and sli) VS 55nm gtx 260

Im thinking that this may be the best bet. As for price, so far i havent found any 55nm GTX 260 c216s for under 260 shipped, and $20 rebate. I looked for about 15 minutes, am i missing something?

Alright, what im looking for is a respectable setup that performs well at high resolutions and high quality. I love AA when avail. 1600x1200 and 1920x1200 (when I get around to blowing up this 22' crt) Also after a year (or 3) I will be planning on throwing these cards into pcs for CUDA stuff...

Looking for server/workstation/network device monitoring software (with a twist)

TTT Nagios is a no-go... from getting it setup and stuff like that, ive noticed that the server queries the client, instead of the client checking into a server. The latter is pretty much the only way to go because of me managing multiple networks in different geographic locations.

Abit AB9 Quad GT and Xeon???!

Meh... maybe I should stick this board in my main system and have my EVGA 680i mainboard as the server... Come to think about it I did manage to BSOD the abit by just sticking a drive in the drive cage and hitting the button... stuff like that shouldnt happen.

But does it have what it needs to even run a (Quad) Xeon class processor? or am I still in the past with the mindset that xeon and P4 (now C2D) are 2 different animals.

20 to 24 pin adapter?

no issue at all, i also dont see an issue of just skipping the adapter. (quite often i skip the adapter, but on my personal systems and servers i dont)

Abit AB9 Quad GT and Xeon???!

Well, to make a long story short, I need to know if an Abit AB9 Quad GT with latest bios will work with a Xeon 3070 or X3220 Kentsfield. I personally have tested it with a 3040 and it works, so no reason why it wouldn't work with a 3070, but id love to see if i could stick a X3220 in the sucker...

Asus and others here, did not give me the full difference between my old RMA board and my new one just arrived motherbo

no reason why it wouldnt work with the 20 pin, unless the bios has a failsafe that prevents operation (like missing 12v power) as an OEM systembuilder i never get 20-24 pin adapters for our builds becasue its not... cost effective... our 24 pin asus mainboards work just fine with 20 pin power...

well... the quad gt flys running 03 server (dont ask) but as for the headaches with the immature shipping bios... well its a real turnoff... ive flashed it roughly 6 times, latest from their site works fine. as for problems ive had, ive had some bluescreens, both were able to dump memory...

6600GT with Sempron 2200+?

My brother currently runs an A64 3200+ NewCastle, 2Gbs ram, and an XFX 6600gt... I have been impressed with that video card. it has been able to run everything we have thrown at it, oblivion, WoW, css, eve, farcry, and a bunch of others... it has a helluva lot of hours on it, and no signs of...

Where did Hitachi's 1 TB drive go?

I havent tried to find any of the Hitachi 1 TB drives anywhere but newegg, and i find it rather odd that i cant find it on Anandtech's real time pricing engine either.... I know its been a long night, but dang. am I totally missing it or is Hitachi having supply issues? I was able to order...

oh wow impressive setup, id love to see if its a nice solution to real world applications... i have a bunch of clients that would jump all over that thing it it worked like in the demo movie... imho i think they were using really small drives because of the shear speed they were popping those...

arguable, i think it counts... but it isnt redundant at all... as for what the OP is asking, if the drives are all diferent sizes it would be hard, or nearly impossible to have a redundant disk configuration without a bunch of wasted space one solution (redundant): raid 5, and partition...

the reason why i would downsize the allocated space per drive is because of the following: out of about a dozen or raid rebuilds i have done for clients that my company supports, i find myself not being able to find the same size drive to replace the failed one... 80 gb does not mean 80gb...

new server it is then, ill just throw in some ide drives and replace one of the older stations in the house (replacing a p2) actually it isnt a 600sc, just the same mobo as it, ive had 2 600sc's come through the shop, had to replace 1 mainboard, and also this acer g301, all of the mainboards...
