e6600 is stable at 3.6 at 1.425v... can't get to 3.7 at 1.45

fsb wall.. try 1.55 or 1.6vcore it wiill be the maximum frequency which ur cpu can operate with that cooling

Where do I go now after 2.66 Ghz on a E6400?

if it can do DDR2667 4-4-4-12, with monior vdimm added it should at least do DDR2800 5-5-5-15 but yeah do 1:1 fsb : dram, as u cant have lower dram than fsb

QX6700 overclocks as much as X6800 ???

no i havent seen a QX6700 OC to 4.1GHz on air, i have seen X6800, E6600 , E6700 OCed to 4.1GHz however most of the QX6700 i have seen have fsb wall at 330fsb... u need P5B DLX or badaxe 2 if u wanna good OC resut from QX6700

all conroe boards r quad ready afaik. its like pentium 4 to pentium d... i have seen kentsfield running on DS3, P5B DLX, 975XBX 1 and 2, DQ6 ....

8800GTX to be 30% faster than ATI's X1950XTX. GTS to be about equal to it.

lol link is dead, meaning they prolly took it down b/c it wasnt accurate?? or just specualted info.... also by 30% faster in what?? if its 30% faster in 3dmark06 its pretty good. another thing is that i cant believe 8800GTS is on par with X1950XTX... that is bogus unless he posted a...

6400 vs 6600 gaming

yeah couple things 1. if ur a gamer save ur money from cpu and put it on better graphics card. like getting E6400 instead and then u have $100 toward ur graphics bidget 2. if u already own AMD X2 cpus , there is no reason to upgrade to conroe if ur a gamer. the gain is not worth getting...

look at ur cpu's box, look for the "batch #", if it says L624A264, then u have a crap cpu like me ...i confirmed it with another one from xs. he's L624A264 E6400 cpu tops out at 425fsb 3.4GHz, and he said 420fsb is good for 24/7. batch # is important, a lot of peopel with L625xxx been doing...

QX6700 2.66GHz 2x4MB L2 cache $999, but u will prolly spend $1050 to $1300 at e-tailer, com'n November Q6600 2.4GHz 2x4MB L2cache , prolly will be some where near $600, com'n Q1 2007, but i thought inquirer said it might come in November depending on how intel's yields are.

You should probably see this

1. games r GPU depandent 2. conroe can be easily to 3.5GHz range easily 3. i dont see any benches compare a E6600 at 3.6GHz vs FX at 3.2GHz both on aircooling, cuz i dont think FX can go that high curretn FX of course

i say all intel board has vdroop especially Asus boards, so if u set 1.55v in bios, ur prolyl geting 1.52v in windows and 1.5v full load (i had GA-965-DS3 and P5W DH they have same droop) badaxe is prolly the least vdroop boards(exclude server boards like P5WDG or P5W 64 i heard those r...

depends on mobo, u will need either 2x4 or 2x2 CPU power connector, and 2x10 or 2x12 monotherboard power connector my P5W DH , GA-96P-DS3 (which is prolly the best buy for E6400 , 6300 ) uses 2x12 and 2x2 D975XBX uses 2x12 and 2x4, it also requires a 4 pin molex conenct to the mobo which...

like i said the most heavily multithreaded game todate as of this moment and i know of is Oblivion, check anand's article http://www.anandtech.com/cpuchipsets/showdoc.aspx?i=2747 and i doubt it will perform better under quad core . ie. Core 2 Duo vs Core 2 Quad at same clock speed
