Should I consider this laptop?

Will AMD's dual core mobile processors be much more expensive than the single cores out right now? How good a GPU will I be able to get in June for about the same price? Oh, and how difficult is it to mount a laptop from a barebone? Do I need other accessories (eg. thermal paste, etc.)...

Recommended compressed music file format?

I would like to re-burn all my CD's (yeah, I still buy CD's) into a new format since my new MP3 player should be coming soon. It is an Archos Gmini 402 (20 GB), which I think can only reproduce MP3 and WMA, and I would like your reccomendations on what program(s) to use and what format to use...

windows takes ~25 secs to load

Heh, you're lucky, I'm running a on a 250W power supply, and from all the crap I've got on this it loads in about 5 mins... :P

what is the best company for peripherals in your opinion?

best headphones under $30?

I've got Sennheiser PX-100's, great sound, portable (they come in a case, they can be folded), so if you're going to use them for portable stuff (MP3, laptop), they're great. You could probably get some under $30, if you look hard enough. If you're travelling, they are great.
