Now using Ubuntu. Easier but I still need some work

I got nothing for that. However, I would recommend Gentoo if you are comfortable with Linux (it compiles the kernal specifically for your machine) or SuSE for a basic Linux install. The SuSE iguana is just too awesome.

Horrid 3DMark05 with eVGA 6800

I've got the best Socket 478 motherboard ever made, the ASUS P4C800-E Deluxe (I wasn't kidding). I update some of the chipset drivers from Intel (for the 875P chipset), but I still can't find these motherboard drivers everyone is talking about.

No, I know exactly why you are asking. I have a off-brand 550W right now. But I plan on upgrading to a OCZ ModStream 520W very soon. The fact that is lacking in the juice department would explain the lack of performance (an perhaps my artifacting on unlocking?)

Well, I've done just about everything I could do. I reinstalled using the basic Forceware drivers, turned of VSYNC, set it to performance image quality, oc'ed it, and I'm not getting it above 1433. I'm fresh out of ideas.

I was just joking Nat, I'm totally shooting for 3000. I've got a whole list of things to do. My best guess is the Chipset is messing up, so I got the latest update from Intel to install tonight.

Windows doesn't take advantage of more than 1 gb, thats what I meant. Also, The CPU and RAM have nothing to do with 3DMark05. Thats my point.

Kensai - 512 is more than enough to run HL2 (maybe not Doom 3, but I don't plan on playing it). The Canterwood 2.4 GHz is one of the most easily overclockable (if not THE most) P4. Plus, 3DMark05 is totally reliant on your GPU, so it wouldn't matter what the rest of the system is.

Which video card is morth worth the money?

You could just get the 6800 NU for under $200 at NewEgg (eVGA brand) and hope you get extra pipes that work.

Well, I would personally recommend this: ASUS K8N4-E DELUXE Socket 754 ($114 shipped) & eVGA 256-P2-N376-AX Geforce 6800GT 256MB ($345 shipped) or eVGA GeForce 6800 Non-Ultra (and hope you get one with working extra pipes) for $190 shipped That's my two cents (all prices from NewEgg)

Yeah, I disabled the AA and AF before I benchmarked. Otherwise, the settings are all controlled by FutureMark because its the free version.

The AGP Fastwrites may be it. I already got driver cleaner, so I'll give that a go. I can try reinstalling the XG's too. My favorite parts was when I maxed out UT2K4 at 1280x1024 & 4xAA/8xAF and was like whoa lag. Then I knew something was wrong. Anyone else? All the help is appreciate.
