90mm vs 92mm Panaflo - Bare end 3pin?

The one with the higher cfm is clearly better, but I don't know if you're willing to get the 14 more cfm for an additional 8cfm. If I were you I'd choose the 92mm, just because it's quieter.

Athlon XP-M OCing

I think it's mainly ram, when I had 1x512mb of some crucial value stuff I couldn't raise fsb that high (I think I hit 2.4GHz at highest with 200 x 12). I had to replace that anyways because it was being a bottleneck so I got a 2x512mb pack of good OCZ, and that DEFINITELY helped my oc to become...

New build, which path to take?

Go for a 3000+ Venice, there are lots of people that are happy with those, and if you OC, you can get them to at least 2.4GHz, I haven't heard of anything lower than that.

If cooling isn't a problem, how high can I raise my vcore?

At a higher vcore you have a higher chance to own your cpu, and you get less life out of it the higher you raise it. I'm fully aware of that on my mobile 2500+ with a 1.825v core, but I don't care because I plan on getting a 3800+ X2 soon, and it should last me long enough :)

Try putting the stock one back on, and RMAing it. It's worth a try, and you didn't really do anything to it to void the warranty besides changing your heatsink. (Also maybe try the stock one instead of the NV silencer to see if that works better--it's worth a try! :))

Sexy Case

Go Antec or Lian Li. Don't go for those cheesy retarded looking cases that are extremely ugly, with a wannabe show off look. If you must go with a cheese case, go for something like an Aspire X-Dreamer, there are a billion funny colored models.

Random Lag Spike

There is a one second lag spike that lasts 1 second every 2 seconds when the CPU is under load, it seems.. that lasts for a couple minutes then will go away and be smooth for a while, but this lag spike seems to freeze everything, mouse stops working for a second, games freeze for a second...

Computer build (slightly changed)

Is a powersupply that costs that much that necessary? I'm running on a Thermaltake Purepower 420w for $36 shipped on Newegg, haven't had any problems with it, and it's very nice for a budget power supply, and I OC whatever I can in my box. =)

Thermaltake Purepower 420w. -- $36 on Newegg It's what I use, and I couldn't be more pleased, it's also got a nifty and convenient way to pull the 4 pin connectors out, without the ocassional struggle to yank them out of whatever they're plugged into. =)

AMD X2 @ 2.856ghz

Could you post pictures of the 2.82GHz in a CPU analysis program like CPU Z? Sometimes there are rounding errors. I.E) When I used to have my old barton 2500+ oc'd to 3200+ speeds (200x11) it would sometimes say 2.18GHz or 2.19GHz, and some other times it would show up as 2.21GHz... Crazy...

need help on overclocking venice 3000+

Why is it that no one ever uses a high VCore anymore? I'm still using a 2500+XP Mobile at 2.6GHz with a 1.8v core. No intention to steal the thread, but why do people never go very high on the V Core anymore? Wouldn't you be able to get a higher stable OC with a higher V Core, say beyond what...
